I saw this discussed once years ago. Wherever
it was, and it was a reliable source, it was said that some of these links do
what they are supposed to and some don't. So, if this is still the case,
that means that other ways, move by heading, skip blocks of links, are more
reliable.

Generally, the links that say click here for ore information that do't seem to do anything are the javascript links that simply pop up a window over top of the existing page with the information in question. Often times, these windows have timers, so they go away after a certain amount of time. I've not found a reliable way for NVDA to find these windows. Sometimes, if it's a permanent window, it's opened at the bottom of the page (as NVDA sees it), so scrolling to the bottom of the page, you will see the extra content that link added to the page. Otherwise, I've found no way at all to see the window content. Travis is probably correct, but in all cases this is a matter of the developer not verifying focus control is working in your browser. Of course since you are using not one of the big four browsers, you will probably find that the developers of the site will not have tested with water fox. In cases where additional data is added to the HTML code the web developer needs to either focus on the new data or use a live region both of which NVDA will support. One final note, I know your browser is essentially an older version of Firefox, but as likely as not, web developers will not have heard of this browser.

Re: Grammarly for Firefox and conflicts with NVDA
Quentin Christensen
ProWritingAid is a general grammar checker. It doesn't have an add-in for the browser like Grammarly does, although it does have one for Word. That online editor I linked to is accessible. Their "main" editor looks like it has changed since I last tried it so I'm not sure what it's like these days. There are lots of different grammar checkers around, and actually a google for "Best grammar checker for facebook" reveals a couple of comparison reviews (which I haven't read yet). One of Grammarly's claimed benefits is that it highlights issues in text in basically any edit field, so facebook messages, Gmail, twitter, your blog, etc, without needing to copy the text into an external program or website. Which is great, except it isn't accessible. ProWritingAid mostly relies on dropping your text in that editor and checking it there. And some of the other tools likely work differently again. ProWritingAid was designed (as far as I know) as a mainstream program, but they did build an accessible interface for it - I don't know whether they had users request it, or whether they did it off their own bat, but either way, good on them, even though they made it a separate editor, rather than making the main one accessible (at least initially, like I said, I haven't tried the main one lately).

Facebook is a weird beast, and they're constantly changing it.
Also, on grammar checkers, another one you might investigate is ProWritingAid, from memory you need to pay for it, but it does some interesting analysis, and it has an accessible web-based editor: https://prowritingaid.com/en/Analysis/Editor?screenReaderFriendly=true
Actually I just had another look, you can use it free with some limitations, or you can buy a license either for one, two or three years, or lifetime - they're on sale for black Friday so one year is $40 up to lifetime is $87. Try it out obviously before you buy it but if you would find it useful, that lifetime license cost is 50% off.
(I should be clear, I don't have any affiliation, I do have a license myself which I purchased, partly because I was happy to support the only grammar checker with any accessibility at all (at the time I checked), though actually, I haven't used it in a little while myself).

Re: Gramarly for Firefox and conflicts with NVDA
Quentin Christensen
That is odd. Hard to say where the issue lies and no doubt in the time it takes to investigate, Facebook will probably change it anyway. Do let me know how you find ProWritingAid - or indeed any other grammar checkers. I haven't gone looking in awhile, but a search for "best grammar checker" or "grammar checker comparison" usually yeilds plenty of options to try. I recall trying Hemingway Editor (I really like the idea, but it's just not accessible at all), Ginger, and I'm sure Whitesmoke, but just looking at this first result on Google: https://financesonline.com/top-20-grammar-checker-software-solutions/ I don't actually recognise most of the others, so their might be some new players to try.

Interesting. If I am writing in say the update status field on m.facebook.com, if I type "I have an hat." (and then try not to press enter so my friend's don't think I'm weird), I don't get any indication moving through the text, but if I go to next object, I get "1", which is grammarly's button indicating there is one err or (an hat instead of a hat), If I go to the previous object, I get "an hat" and then "I have", as if it's separated the error text from the first part of the sentence. I'll have to explore further. Either way, I can use NVDA+spacebar to jump between browse and focus mode without issue.

Re: problem with NVDA and libre office
Quentin Christensen
All I can really say to that, is to reiterate what I said earlier - keep reporting bugs! To us, so we are aware of them (and if we can fix them independently, great!) and particularly to Libre Office, because the more people who report accessibility issues, the more likely they will prioritise working on it (and even hopefully work with us). Libre Office use a web-based issue tracker, like we do, however they use Bugzilla rather than GitHub, so you'll need to create a free account with them to report issues. Here is the link: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/
