in nvda 2018.4rc2 there are made changes I'm not glad with it.

it's about the emoticons.

before it was made that when you press the tab, you change the catechory

but now first you have to press windowskey plus dot or ;

after that you have to press tab to

to choose a catechory

now with right arrow  choose a catechory now enter again, after that you

can tab to find the list!

before it was a lot easyer!

that was press windowskey plus .

than tab to the right catechory after that you find immediately the list!

this is much more cumbersome I think!

you can better take the way as before

in the beginning of nvda 2018.4.

So long as you can prepare in advance, or you remember to deactivate your license, then you are right, activation and deactivation works well enough. I wonder how many mainstream products force a user to activate and deactivate a product though. Hell, Windows ties activation to your e-mail address. It doesn't make you deactivate your computer if you format your drive, lose your information, or whatever. Anyway, each to their own. I've stated my opinion on this product, and if you feel that you have gotten value out of their product, then there you go.

Dear Friends,

May I ask for your input on this, once again. I am running Windows 10
and have two audio options: a Realtek sound card and a Logitech
wireless headset (not Bluetooth). Under the NVDA speech settings, when
I choose one of these, the output is through the other one. I want the
Logitech wireless headset, but have to choose Realtek to get it.
However, the NVDA sounds do not have the same good voice quality as
when I used to set it to come through the Logitech option. Especially,
the initial sound in each word is often cut off. Selecting the Realtek
option, NVDA sounds come through the Logitech headset, but system sounds come through the computer speakers.

When I raised these issues three weeks ago, several of you suggested
this would be a driver problem. I checked the settings and drivers,
together with my sighted wife and we found no irregularity. I had
another person, who is more computer savvy, look at this and he, too,
said that there was no evidence of errors with either the Realtek driver or the Logitech driver.

Is it possible to have a driver problem, even though there is no error
alert?

Any other suggestions?

Windows 7 does not use UIA though which was why I specifically mentioned it
here.
I think its simply missing something, as its not every time, only
sometimes.
Its only started to happen recently say in the last couple of releases of
nvda. I guess it might be that the system has to decide if its uia or not
which might stop it getting the info from windows if its significantly
slower than it used to be. My machine is still the same though, so unless
something I installed is doing tit , I'm at a loss.
