Hello, How do you increase the speech rate of NVDA using eloquence from coat factory? When I increase the speech rate to 100%, the speech rate stays the same speaking at 50%. Thank you Sent from my iPhone

NVDA Updates
Stanley Haupt <bookworm@...>
Hello NVDA Users:
This morning when I started NVDA, I was told that a new release was available. It went back to February 2016.1. After going to Nvaccess.org, I discovered that NVDA2016.2.1 was available. I did the download and everything is back on track with NVDA. Stanley

Hi, Brian. One of the best computers I have is a 10 year old Del. He's awesome, stable, and a work horse and not enough Ram room to upgrade to windows 7. Very sad and depressing and I may have to put Vinux on him or something. He had XP but a few months ago his antivirus vanished...not good. We did a cleanout, put it back or tried and all the stuff we cleaned out returned too. Not lovely good. LOL. But yeah, the new keyboards are freakish. This one I'm using is a new Del so Del is doing it too. I just don't get why they have to change everything. Isn't a new windows enough to torment people with without screwing up a perfectly good keyboard? We all know the saying if it's not broke don't fix it...In our Gremlins Fan fiche we are using on fanfiction.net to promote our you tube channel I give Stripe a quote that says "If it's not broke, break it..." And I think computer designers, tech software designers, all of them learned from our dearest Gremlin. HAHA.

OK so its only running xp, but it is a lot more productive than the alien designed weird make I used for a while with the spongy hardly moving keys...:-) The other annoyance with laptops is the mouse pad getting caught under the wrist. I found this old new Dell has actually got a switch in a bit of software in the system tray to stop it working. Bliss. Only issue is that the context menu is shift and a funtion key the insert and page up and down etc are on the end of the function key row and a special key is where windows key normally is, but hey, the cursors and numeric keys are all where they should be. Re: CodeFactory Vocalizer
Well, for me I don't need the other synth, as Vocalizer, with Thai
language support, is all that I need, and the price of Tiflatechnia's
Vocalizer is not that expensive by Thai standards.

That's a good suggestion, though I found a workaround. Simply connect your USB to your personal laptop or something, then fire up NVDA with Vocalizer and it should work fine. Also if you have other portable apps installed on your USB, it's a good practice to connect your USB and update them every once in a while; I haven't check for update on any of my portable apps for a while already...lol

Tiflatechnia is the best, I'm a system admin and
they have reset me when appropriate, and very supportive in trying to solve the
problem of me using there voices in conjunction with code factory's voices, and
code factory hasen't done anything but take my money and run, they seem short
staffed and out of touch with there customers, not just in my opinion but others
in the past on this list. In reguards to Tiflatechnia, it would be nice
however if as a suggestion on the portable copy they would disable internet
license checking, because on a usb stick for work purposes, most of those
machines never reach the internet in portible stages.

Re: CodeFactory Vocalizer
The Vocalizer I'm using (not the Codefactory one) worked pretty good. If you're using it on a portable copy, the non Codefactory one is best as it recognizes your USB as a device, I.E portable activation is machine independent. However you need to make sure that it can connect to the internet once in a while, otherwise you'll get a message saying that the license has been disabled. In terms of tech support, Tiflatechnia gave me very good support; they even increased my activation count a number of times and I'm sure, in an event that one of my activation copy was lost either due to unusable PC or I lose my USB, they will increase my activation count.

the NVDA key is a modifier key. It is one of the keys you would use say to turn off NVDA for example the insert key and the letter Q the NVDA key can be the insert key, the extended insert key or the capslock key. Gene nz

Oh Gene that's so exciting to hear because the
instructions I've been given here have been confusing me. LOL. I think they're
given from the perspective of someone who knows w hat they're doing. LOL. I'm
saving all messages and trying to work with them but yeah...confused. So what I
want to do on Facebook. 1. scroll through group messages easily. 2. Reply, which
usually works, but not sure how to send as I have had mixed success making
sending a message work. 3. Finding personal friends I already have to send them
messages. 4. Sending private messages that aren't on the wall. Is there a way to
do that without going into chat? Don't know how to do it either way so yeah.
LOL. 5. Looking at the messages I am notified that I have. Like on my wall or
personal it says I have them but when I click it won't navigate through them
well if I arrow or even tab so obviously I should be doing something
else.

Re: Facebook with NVDA
Semirhage
Hi. someone asked about our you tube channel address. We have 3. One is for food reviews, funny, because my husband loves food so much we make a joke out of it. The way he talks about food usually makes it or breaks it for people depending on how he feels so yeah. lOL. It's called food is my mistress and of course it's on you tube.
The second is called batweb gothic reviews and we review anything from action figures to talking toys to sunglasses and other accessories to jewelry even movie analysis and tarot decks, but it's of all things horror or gothic. Like we did a Van Helsing action figure review and a scary singing teddybear from Halloween City, just for examples so if that's not your thing ou wont like that one. Also home decor but more Gothic in style. We tell people we're Seinfeld meets Adams family. The 3rd is a comedy channel and warning sometimes there is language though not excessive. LOL. it's called Hekyl and Jekyl's show about nothing. We usually wear wooden sunglasses carved into the shape of raven masks, thus Hekyl and Jekyl but we have our own spelling. LOL. So we're trying to grow on facebook, and I'm not doing something right because it's difficult to use. A friend said jaws is easier for her to use than NVDA, but I will figure this out and I refuse to cave and deal with jaws. LOL. I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed. Disable protection in a word document that you received via e-mail, etc.
Jacob Kruger
Asking this here since, I know that, for example,
if I receive a word document via e-mail, then I won't really be able to edit it,
or really review contents, since windows/word marks as it as from a possibly
unsafe source, but, for example, when having worked with jaws in the past, I
would switch to jaws/virtual mouse cursor, move to one of the top lines of the
whole window, and on the right-hand side, there would be something you could
click the mouse cursor on, to enable editing.
However, if I switch to screen review cursor in
current/latest NVDA, then I don't seem to be able to find that part of the
window.
I am guessing that if I used actual physical mouse
itself, I might be able to find it, but, was just wondering if there's another
way someone can recommend/suggest?
As in, something like either a set of keystrokes,
or another method/means to access that hotspot, without having to work with a
physical mouse, which I wouldn't even, generally, have plugged into a desktop
PC.
And, this is currently working with MS word 2010,
but anyway.
TIA
