So when NVDA wants to update and the updates are more toward win 10, if one is still using win 7 should one not risk the nvda updates?

Re: Creating a Message Filter in Thunderbird
Rich, Are you using the IMAP protocol to access your email messages or POP? You generally only create message filters within an e-mail client, whether it's Thunderbird or other, when you are using POP. If you are using IMAP filters are created on the server side and all the assignment of messages to folders occurs on the server side. I worry a lot. . . I worry that no matter how cynical you become it's never enough to keep up. ~ Trudy, in Jane Wagner's "Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe"

OK, assuming you are doing everything up to this point correctly: When you get to the item that says: 'choose folder' treat it like a combo box. Use the keystroke alt + down arrow to open it and then use tree view type keystrokes (right arrow to open a collapsed item left arrow to close) to navigate. then use up and down arrows to continue navigation. If you see a folder that says collapsed then use right arrow to open it';s structure and down arrow to a sub folder. Once you have found and highlighted the desired folder, press enter or space bar to be sure it is selected. Then tab to the rest of the dialogue and make selections.

I use the mobile site all of the time, and it is very easy to do the basics, send message, post, comment on others' posts, and much more. It is so simple, because there is no adds or apps or anything like that on there. It just has what you want, and you can navigate just like on any other web sites. Yes, much better to use the mobile site! Take care.

Hi
I started uploading some of it last night, the page is under construction but the page is up there ready to go.
More will be add in the next night or so it is written up, it just needs some editing and page formatting for the web page. From what I have read from what you want to do it should cover most of it but have not worked out how to do the private chat one yet as I have had no need for it so did not find out how to do it and that is as if you can with a screen reader. The tutorial is done from a blind user prospective and not a sighted persons prospective.
Hope it will help other users as well a friend of mine just signed up and wanted to know as well so i was putting to gather some information for him to use face book as well.
I usually only read some of the articles reply to messages etc now and again or post when there is a release of NVDA or a new tutorial or some thing to go up on the website.

Arlene, Yes, at least up through Outlook 2013. I haven't tried this post the 2013 version, but given how old the Trust Center is and that these particular settings for Protected View haven't changed in eons I'd presume it probably holds all the way up through the current version. As I noted, you do have to do this in each and every office program where you want this feature turned off. I worry a lot. . . Yes, I like using the caps lock a lot better, because it is right by where you type and is easy to get to. I even like using the laptop mode with JAWS so much better, because you can use the caps lock with JAWS if it is on the laptop layout. Take care all.

Even though it may be a full size keyboard, i am lazy and plug in a wireless full size keyboard where the keys are spaced nicely and easy to find like normal. Then set the lap top to desk top keyboard layout. You can set the modifier keys under the keyboard settings section in NVDA. You can use the CTRL + the NVDA key + the letter K to go to this section quickly. Actually I have all 3 picked it does not hurt. But usually only use the one or 2 of them By the way if you want to type in capital letters if you use the caps lock key you must hit it 2 times until you hear it say capslock on and you must hit it 2 times to turn it off. Arlene, Brian, etc.
I activated menu ribbon, arrowed across to file,
arrowed down, until found options, and hit enter.
Then ctrl + tab until it focused on trust
center.
Then tabbed over to trust center settings button,
and hit space, and in the dialogue that came up, hit ctrl+tab until it focused
on protected view, there are various checkboxes, either related directly to
something like outlook, or else just relating to generally internet-sourced
documents, and you can turn on, or off those that you want to, and then just tab
over to Ok button, hit space, and do same once or twice more for other
dialogues, and, think should be sorted now.
So, thanks, again...<smile>
