If you need to use Mozilla Apps Enhancements add-on, Do not install Control Usage Assistant. NVDA+H conflicts and doesn't allow column re-organization in Thunderbird. After discovering this conflict on a Thunderbird user's machine  I was supporting yesterday, I felt it important enough to bring up here. Stuff like this and the Golden Cursor/Clip Contents Designer conflict causes me to be very careful which add-ons I recommend and wish there was a better coordination model for how add-ons are developed and what methods authors use to decide which key strokes are safe to use. This is not a criticism of any particular authors. I personally appreciate all of you giving of your time to make NVDA as flexible as it is. Maybe we need to come up with a compatibility list of trusted add-ons and what they can do to one another. If you plan to use this add-on, don't install that one, etc.

Hmm, is it accessible and what versions of windows does it support. I'm usually dubious of such software myself.

I’m using an Acer laptop with the latest version of NVDA and Windows 10 with Office 2016.

NVDA stops talking while I’m working in Excel.  It goes well for a while and suddenly NVDA just stops functioning.  I tried to restart NVDA with no success in an effort to restore speech.  Is there a way to resolve the matter?

Recently there were some queries in regards to whether NV Access was considering to participate in Google Summer of Code 2019. I am happy to say that NV Access has decided to apply to be a Google Summer of Code 2019 organisation and our application is ready for submission.
We will not know if we were successful until February 27, but we will let everyone here know once we find out.
If we are successful, we will be very excited to see what project proposals students come up with for NVDA. I believe that students can start submitting proposals in March.
To aide in planning your proposals, and as required by the Google Summer of Code program, NV Access has created a Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas page: http://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/wiki/GSOC-2019-Ideas-List
As it says on the page, we will consider proposals on any open issue that is appropriately sized for Google Summer of Code, but the above ideas list are just some that we have hand-picked as we believe they are the right size and will have a good impact on the NVDA project. If you are a student planning to submit a proposal through Google Summer of Code this year and you have not yet talked to Reef or I directly, we encourage you to contact us so that we are aware of your interest ahead of time, and we can confirm whether or not we believe we would be able to mentor you in relation to your particular project topics you are proposing.
Based on the size of NV Access it is most likely we will only take one or two students this year.
NV Access will make further official statements in late February if we find out we were successful.

Last night I received a large update to windows. I suppose other windows
users' did as well. Ever since I am hearing fairly loud pops in my
speakers every few minutes. So far it doesn't seem to be related to
anything I am doing but time and experience may reveal something. I wonder
if anyone else is also hearing pops. I'm going to post this same question
on a sighted list to figure out if it is screen reader related.

Clip Copy still works here, actually.
Of course you will receive a warning telling you it's not compatible but
you can check it to keep working.
And, while others may consider it dangerous, I'll tell you to do it at
your own risk. That's what I did. I DID.
