What about leaving it in a hot car and not realising I left it on, that killed it entirely, needed a new one.

Re: Fn Key Issues

You can change the function of whichever key you wish to with sharpkeys. As an example, I often change the function of the printscreen key to an applications key on Lenovo laptops. One work-around if a user does not wish to adjust the setting with the hotkey or in the bios is to change the function of the multimedia keys to perform f1-f12 functions. Thanks.

Re: Intro & Question
I believe there is a developers list. If you go to your groups list, and then click nvda, find t eh @ symbol and click the link, it will look like an email address but is not, you will be taken to the main page. Join the dev sub group and you should be good to go.

But as stated that is for IO devices. The external keyboard although an input device I don't think can have its function key changed in such a way as the user is wanting. I would google though and see if you can come up with anything per the model of your keyboard.

Greetings All,
I am beginning the process of learning NVDA and as a former programmer am interested in trying my hand at a little Python programming.
I downloaded Python 3.7 and executed the Idle app.
The Python shell came up, but I do not see any prompts with NVDA or Jaws. What am I missing and how do I proceed? Any guidance is welcome.
Thanks! Lh

agreed, I used to read a message then get all fired up, and type an angry response and then later on I would read the mails back again and regret firing off the angry mail.

Re: Fn Key Issues
Nimer Jaber
Hello, Often times, a machine may have a hotkey combination which will change the behavior of the function key. When this is not the case, there should be a BIOS setting. Yes, Sarah, technically you probably could use sharpkeys but there really isn't a need as this behavior can be changed. Thanks.

My machine broke several times during the insider builds. Everything from
having to do a system restore, to the machine making and odd noise, to losing sound. I had to completely reinstall windows. It fixed everything. ----- From: nvda@nvda.groups.io <nvda@nvda.groups.io> On Behalf Of Chris Shook Sent: Monday, February 11, 2019 4:46 PM To: nvda@nvda.groups.io Subject: Re: [nvda] NVDA and tablets I usually only download the stable builds because I'm afraid of breaking something and not being able to fix it, LOL. Re: latest accessible version of tor browser?
hurrikennyandopo ...
Hi dan
The latest version of the TOR browser is not accessible it used to be. at present after it is setup it will read the title bar but no more not even the menus or what is on the page it's self.
You would have to go back at least a full version either 7 or 6 of it which was.
I would only pop into it now and again and at present will state on the web page of mine it is not accessible now.

Re: Firefox fails with Google spread sheets
I use chromewith sheets all the time and it works, under windows anyway, not under mac os. And what do you mean fierfox fails? Do you mean it thros an error? If so what is said error? If it does not what happens, does the browser lock up, does the browser crash? Does the page not load?

Re: latest accessible version of tor browser?
Gene
It's a browser that connects to a remote server,
sending information to you from that server. it makes what sites you go to
much harder for people to trace if they want to see where you browse. For
example, if you want to look at a specific site, the Tor (spelling) browser
doesn't connect to it using your Internet company. It uses your Internet
company to connect to a Tor server. The Tor server then connects to the
site you want and sends the information to you. This also helps people in
countries where there is Internet censorship connect with sites that are blocked
by the country.
The Tor browser is also used to connect to sites on
the Dark Web, but I don't know technically why you can connect with that browser
and not with other ones.

Re: latest accessible version of tor browser?
If you have a way to set up location on the computer you can just run your regular browser through the toor proxi. I lost the instructions as that was 3 years ago for me. Failing that you could set up a proxi on a remote VPS and run your regular browser that way. I did this for several months and although it was slow, it worked fine. Take care

Before the original poster does that, can they use sharp keys, I'm thinking no, but it never heard to ask. I've personally never heard of such a case as the original poser has. But with technology you just never know.
