Good Afternoon: You are correct. The answer is in Ease of Access. Go down and enter on keys and tab over to sticky keys. Dave

Use reaper to edit the videos. I use it for editing much more but I also edit my videos that way. Take care

Hi Armando,

You can try virtual dub. It is very accessible with NVDA and works on windows 10 as I have briefly used it. The only issue with that is it does not have a built-in MP4 converter which you will need to manually import by downloading a particular MP4 converter. I am stuck exactly at this point where I am not able to figure out how to manually import the external MP4 converter into virtual dub. Something well worth researching for all of us. Cheers Manoj

Oh, by the way, FreemakeVC tries to install additional software when it is installed. Make sure you uncheck these items.

Thanks, what I actually meant was video
editing software. But I will definitely keep this in mind. :)

I use FreemakeVC. It will convert a boat load of video formats. It will also rip and burn videos.
There is a free version which runs a little slower and a paid version which runs faster and which allows a few more features. I have used both and only purchased the paid version for the increased speed. It wasn't bad on the free version but I was ripping our video library and decided the increased speed was worth it. We have over 600 movies we have collected over the years.
Hope this helps.

Re: win7 security
Weird, the only thing I noticed was that yesterday's update for defs was majorly delayed yesterday, thats also fixed as of today, so I suspect a corrupted update file was inadvertantly released.

Video converting software that works with windows 10 and NVDA
Armando Maldonado
Hello, as I'm about to take a trip soon, I was
wondering of the following. Has anyone here tried any video editing software
that would work well with NVDA and Windows 10? Any suggestions would very much
be appreciated. Best, Armando

Mallard <mallard@...>
In fact, Oliver, should you have a way to receive donations (Paypal or something), I'd love to contribute at least to expenses.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I appreciate your generosity and that you want this add-on to ve a gift. If I can make a donation, therefore, it won't be a payment, but a gift in its own right. A gift of joyful gratitude to a very capable and generous person. Ciao, Ollie

Hello, I have not yet tried this but have noticed in the context menue that a duplication option is listed. Have you found this and tried it yet? Place focus on the tree list of citations and select the one you wish to duplicate. Then press shift +F10 to reach the context menu. Does that help any? Sally

So, I wonder how many people work on the Jaws picture smart? Probably more than one. Remember this this is probably a one man job so far, one who is communicating with us and open to suggestions. I find it a bit unfair to compare something with a retail product where money is likely being exchanged for the research and development. Not only is Oliver not receiving a dime so far for this add-on, but he is fronting the bill himself for the image describing that is available so far.

Re: How to tell NVDA which ONeCore voice shoud be used with language switching

Hello Sylvie,

I'm afraid that this is not possible today. NVDA is looking in an ordered list to the voice that matches the language and stops at the first voice found. I'll see if I can do something in my module. Paul.

windows msse security issue
Hi.
I do suspect that it could be a corrupt file, usually windows defender gets updates immediately. While last nights one came out just fine, the one for this morning which usually is there when I turn on the system did not appear till 9am local time. That could be why it was late, though it did appear.

If you reboot and you get no such message, it is very unlikely anything to worry about. if you reboot and do get such a message, what screen-reader are you using? I suspect the message also said something like click here to address the problem. However, if you want to check your security settings before doing any of this, do the following: Open the start menu. Type the word security. Then after a moment, read the current line. If it isn't what you want, look through many of the options. Down arrow through them. If you find what you want, press enter. You will find what you want, as one of the items says chec security status. I just checked. One of the main improvements in Windows 7 is that you don't have to look for things as you did in XP. Use the start menu search and you'll fined most things, even if you don't know what they are called. The start menu search is designed to find things when the technical or exact words aren't used. for example, use the start menu search to search for uninstall programs or uninstall a program. You will find relevant results even though you didn't use the technical name. I don't remember it any more. But you will find entries in plain English such as remove a program. This is important to know not only for Windows 7 but, though I haven't checked because I haven't used higher versions of Windows, I'm sure they all have this feature. Note as if to prove it was a rogue update, XP msse has also thrown a not currently on error, and the same fix worked there as well. I suspect a corrupted update file. We shall see in due course.
