Re: Strange clock reading
Chris
I guess you are referring to the clock addon rather than nvda itself
If I remember correctly there was a issue at some time but a update to the addon fixed this issue
But if you are running the latest version then you should contact the developer for help

Hi. The NVDA Clock has started to read strangely. The issue is that when the time reaches 0:0 it speaks 0:0 But then, for some reason, for the remainder of the hour, it reads 24: then the minutes up to 59. After 24:59 the clock reverts to 01: and the time is right after that. Not sure what is causing this and I haven't done anything unusual with my PC to make this happen.
Any clues?
Cheers.

Yes and in the previous log, the brailed interface was also implicated. Might be worth finding out if the driver used is the one that everyone else uses with nvda, it might be that simple.

some problems. Try loading NVDA and Microsoft Office without your

Travis,
REM in command prompt batch scripts is short for REMark. You are correct that this is how a comment line is noted in this scripting language. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep. ~ Saul Bellow, To Jerusalem and Back

Thank you Brian. Much appreciated. Out of curiosity, what does REM stand for? I'm guessing it's code to tell Windows that the said line has nothing to act on, but wondered past that as I'm sure that rapid eye movement is not the correct answer here. LOL! Travis

Fassabum, facepalm. Fassabumming, facepalming. Wow, those are still pronounced the same. Ok, time to experiment. As I'm using Eloquence, I know how that sounds already. Ok, it's up to the synth. Both eSpeak and Windows OneCore pronounce facepalm(ing) correctly. Thanks all for the clarification. Travis

Face palming? LOL, I never would have guessed that the way it was bing pronounced, and I couldn't get emojis to spell out the letters of the description given, so truly had no idea. Jackie, thanks.

Re: changing when Windows automatically checks for updates
To be honest, I had a strange issue where a system had all sorts of issues due to a dead wireless card. The card was not compatible with windows 10 though, and it was certainly a dead card, like its company was allready in bit heaven and the card was allready unsupported. A new card fixed all issues. Sadly there are places you can buy a computer for cheap with bits in it. Those bits may be outdated and scrap themselves though.

I was just now trying to open a file in Word when I lost speech and had to restart NVDA. I’m using the latest version of Microsoft Office with the latest version of NVDA. Below is the log. Hope this helps.
