First, why do you want to find another voice if all
you need to do is reregister the Code Factory Voice, especially if you want
Eloquence? As far as I know, registration is free. I believe, though
you can check, that if you run NVDA once a month with the voice, you will remain
registered. So just running it for a moment with the Eloquence voice
should be all you need to do.
As far as changing to the Microsoft voice on your
computer is concerned, are you using the SAPI version of Eloquence or the
Add-on? It may affect how you run the Microsoft voice. I'm not sure
I can tell you just how to switch but answering my question may make it easier
for you to find out.

It appears that what is wanted is an indication of
a capital letter when reading, not arrowing letter by letter. This has
been needed for a long time in NVDA.

Is there a way to cause NVDA to announce capitalization of words when reading by line, sentence, or paragraph? This may be the only feature in JAWS that I really miss. Ps I didn’t see this as a feature in any add-ins either.

I don't know what's causing your issue, but Skype for Business has been working well for me too under both NVDA and JAWS.

The easiest way is to use the synthesizer command NVDA+ctrl+s Tab once Press enter and it should play through whatever is considered the default sound card.

I have generally found that there is a new default when you remove a usb card, but it often depends on how the windows drivers work or how the sound device appears in the various bits of software on the computer. Windows is a bit of a mess on its sound card support, it is worse in windows 10 than on windows 7 from my experience. Of course it is very possible to set up a screenreader to use one output device while the rest of windows uses another. However sometimes the slightest disturbance seems to screw it up.

It was a long time ago now. If it will live with the old OE then I might try it. I use pop3 mainly due to its message rules autosorting of messages etc. You cannot do that on Imap and have to mess with the online version of the email in order to set up the rules etc. Not easy if you have emails with different companies all with different interfaces and of course all subject to change on the whim of the provider. If pop3 is there it fine. I usually use imap as well if provided and hide the folders except thus used by default, ie spam and inbox then if one ends up in spam if I copy it to inbox then it gets delivered on pop3.

Hi, failing all else, of course you can reset NVDA to factory settings by pressing NVDA+CTRL+R three times quickly. You'll lose all settings, but you very likely get your speech back, even though it might not be the synth you are expecting. On a Windows 10 machine you can even launch Narrator while NVDA is running, then change settings in NVDA under the guidance of Narrator. Got me out of a tight spot once. Best, Felix Am Fr., 5.
