Actually the bug is described on my first message. And, from his message, I assumed he'd know what it's about, but thanks for the warning :) Well, the bug is, basically now to have access to the options such as General, Privacy and such using the arrow keys, you need first of all to enable NVDA focus mode and tab a few times around the screen before issuing the up/down arrow command. Captcha Buster never worked for me here. Are you sure it's free? I think I read you had some captchas for free, and then you had to subscribe. But maybe I'm getting mixed up with another service. Ciao, Ollie

Brian doesn't know what the bug is. I suggest
you write a description of it as though you were submitting a report and send it
to him. As far as I know, the bug is that you have to be in forms mode in
order to see certain fields in options. But I'm not sure if you are saying
there is more to it.

So basically then, the field is not focussed like it is on google but is on the page. I wonder what the point of changing the way search works was? Might worth reporting it on the Firefox bug tracker or on nvda github in case a work around is possible.

Why mail clients are still, in 2019 not honoring the threaded view and starting an entire new one is beyond me - is there anything specific that would cause such a thing?Yes, it depends entirely on what a given e-mail client uses to build threads. Most use a combination of actual subject along with any one of several other e-mail header fields that most of us don't ever see because we don't display e-mail headers in full. One big problem that occurs far more frequently on some of the blind technology related lists is that subjects accidentally get changed, causing a topic split when none was intended. All it takes is adding a space or deleting one in a Subject: field and, bang, new topic. When I actually see this occurring on the archive I immediately merge the "stray" back into the original and just pray that whoever follows up might not follow-up directly to the stray. We also see this happen when folks use e-mail classification programs that intentionally alter the Subject: field by adding text to it, e.g., [spam] or something similar. Most threading algorithms these days pay a lot of attention to the content of Subject:. It has, in fact, become common to make that the primary determinant in deciding, "What is a thread/conversation?" It's presumed that if someone is deliberately altering the Subject: field in an ongoing topic it's because they're intentionally trying to spin-off a different topic. So the best thing one can do to avoid accidental topic/thread/conversation splits is to leave the Subject: field unchanged. The second thing is to avoid using just altering the subject as a "new thread creation" technique. Starting a new topic via the posting address absolutely guarantees that a new thread/conversation/topic is going to be created even if it were to have exactly the same title as an existing one (which, I'd have to believe everyone knows, is a very bad idea). -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1809, Build 17763 Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell. ~ Edward Abbey

Hi Oliver,

could you explain how your captcha solver works? In the German mailing list since the last week a captcha solver entitled Captcha buster is spreaded. It is available for Chorme and Firefox, too. If I understand the way it works correctly they use the option of recaptcha to recognize the alternative audio file. So if your solving routine uses an other way to solve the captcha it would be nice to have a second tool. Yours sincerely Arno Am Freitag, 12. Oliver,
I have installed the extension. Now Brave asks me if I want to disable developer mode extensions every time I start Brave. Should I go into the settings and turn developer mode off or what. this is going to get kind of irritating after a while if I have to keep getting these warnings.
thanks for this great extension.

Silly question, but, can you provide the URL of a site/page, which is an example of the type of captcha it should be able to solve/work with?

Yes please if there’s an AddOn developper, see about making an AddOn! Not everyone has the same opportunities to have Jaws. Yes I can always on top of a book, Control+b, but nevertheless I feel we shouldn’t be left out of the full potential of BARD Express only for using an alternative screen reader like NVDA!

Quick Navigation By Heading In MS Word Focus Mode
Bhavya shah
Dear all,
I presently switch to browse mode in MS Word and use standard quick navigation commands to navigate heading by heading. However, there is a certain scenario in which I need to be heavily multitasking, often not listening to NVDA at all but constantly taking notes, navigating to different sections (sorted by headings) of the Word document whilst constantly inputting text under each section. A problem I am commonly facing whilst doing this activity is forgetting to switch between focus mode and browse mode in Word, due to which I sometimes miss taking crucial notes as I am paying attention to something else rather than hear NVDA frantically say "not supported in this document" as I am typing while still in browse mode, or fail to navigate in the document and instead enter text like "hhhh" since I am still in focus ode. One way in which I imagine solving this problem is if I were able to navigate heading by heading whilst in focus mode itself in MS Word. I use Word 2016, and I seem to have some recollection of having read about the ability to performing heading navigation using Word 2016's Find functionality or via key commands along the lines of Ctrl+Alt+PgUp/PgDn. In case heading navigation by some internal Word 2016 functionality is possible, please explain the process of making use of that. I would truly appreciate any assistance. Thanks. -- Best Regards Bhavya Shah Blogger at Hiking Across Horizons: https://bhavyashah125.wordpress.com/ E-mail Address: bhavya.shah125@gmail.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bhavyashah125/

YEs, George is plugged in wherever he can be, both in NVDA settings and Windows settings. You may have something with a say-all config; I was messing with config earlier this week, something I hadn't done before, so I may have messed something up, which I will check later when I'm on that machine. Thanks for the suggestion. Christopher B
