Is it possible to create custom braille tables for nvda
Hi all. I don't own or have access to a braille display but I am trying to help some friends. First of all sorry if this has been asked before. As the subject says, I am wondering if we can modify a braille table for our needs. For example, in modern Greek braille, if a letter is accented we add dot 5 in front of the Greek character. But some people don't want to see it at all so I was wondering if we could change this. As you can understand, this is a matter of preference. Some people want to see the accented letters and some not. So probably the best solution would be to have 2 Greek tables. One with the accented letters and one without. So what can I do about this? Is it a liblouis issue or is it an nvda issue? I hope somebody can help. Thanks Nikos

You are right the basic intermittent issue has been around generally since the xp days.

If you look at logs you do often see warnings but no actual errors. I do not have some comparison logs handy and as it is quite a small irritation probably low priority, but despite it being in the tracker I did not find it. My poor search skills probably! Yes this seems to happen a lot on windows 10, not seen it on 7, but have encountered unknown on 7 for no obvious reason so I'm thinking that the software is sending multiple events and depending on which is 'seen' you get different results.

As an aside, I have issues with the current nvda in word 2003, but what I have done is to keep an older nvda as a portable version and am happy to switch to that when its needed.

Re: 2019.1.1 released
Brian's Mail list account
Yes this is win 7 as well. I have a suspicion that in fact the error occurs due to all the failed to removed messages at update time hanging onto the current log file and hence when the new copy starts the old log is locked rather than renamed to old as it should be. Whether the routines in 7 are slower or its as I say something in the hardware or software that compounds it, I have no idea, but only a handful of people have the issue and its not every time either, and it proved impossible to duplicate by any developer back several issues ago, It all started when renaming folderrs so the correct support files were used was brought in by Mick to solve another issue.

has anyone else observed that sometimes NVDA reports the title of the desktop as "Explorer" whereas at other times it states "Program Manager?" As an aside, I find that "Explorer" is often announced even when it is inappropriate as something completely different has focus. Best, Felix

You should have got an email straight away, although some email servers might put it in spam.
If you go to https://www.nvaccess.org/my-account/downloads/ you should be able to download all material you have purchased.
Kind regards
