Hi

the link to the drop box where you can get the speech platform synth and
voices is
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0rokrf6a4qijsvf/Speech%20Platform%2011%20engine%20and%20voices.zip?dl=0

The speech hub package is only in english all of the synth and voices. You
will need to install the add on as well for nvda to see the package after
the main file has been installed.

the add on can be found under c: drive then program files x86 then speech
hub then i think it is the add on it is the top folder called add on. it
will need to be installed the usual way for nvda to see the package.

The link to this one from drop box is
https://www.dropbox.com/s/28lcflys6ebbmtk/SpeechHubInstall.exe?dl=0

I think the following website if i remember right you can get free TTS
voices as well. if i remember right you do not have to buy the package as
the synths and voices which are free can be installed. I thin there are
commercial ones but you have to buy them. I thought i had lost this link a
long time ago.

The link to this page is

Hi v

Not sure if any of the voices in the speech platform package will suit your
needs. there are voices for both english and other languages that i do not
speak

I can drop box them for you they are about 340 meg with all voices and the
speech platform runtime engine.

You will need a program like 7 zip or one that can unzip the files for you
first. When done look for the speech platform runtime engine and install it
first. It is the only file that does not have the name of the file with TTS
in in standing for text to speech and the name of the voice and language.

You can get it from my drop box account at
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0rokrf6a4qijsvf/Speech%20Platform%2011%20engine%20and%20voices.zip?dl=0

The speech hub package also has other synths and voices but in a package
and
can be gotten off the following website at http://www.speakon.org.uk/

When you download the speech hub package you will also need to install the
add on so nvda can see the synths and voices. So the main package will get
installed then under your c: drive program files x86 then speech hub then
the folder for the add on it will need to be installed into nvda. Then
later
on you can change to those other synth and voices.

There may be other software there that you may like to try.

Re: key repeat shut off

I'm not sure of what you're wanting.
If you want NVDA to not report each and every key you happen to press, then the command is NVDA+2. If, on the other hand, you want NVDA not to announce commands in general, then you should hit NVDA+4.
Now, if none of them is what you're after, write back so that I can offer further suggestions :)

Re: key repeat shut off

If you have NVDA set to announce keys like tab and down arrow, there is no way around it, the command is either off or on and of course, you wouldn't want to stop speech when using such commands. in general.  If you are in a situation where you do want to stop speech, such as in an audio player, turn off speech.

The developer of the Chrome Captcha Solver extension had also made an add-on for Firefox, also in alpha-beta testing stage, that has been withdrawn for the time being.  I have requested that he post again if the Firefox Add-On is released again.

Hi

When you unzip it there is a folder within it that you will need to locate I think it was called google capt cha extension or some thing like that. it needs to be done to that folder not the one before. Otherwise you get that message. So when you go to find it say if you had unziped it onto your desktop into a folder then when you go to browse through it with google  then that folder needs to be the one you do it to.

Oliver, is this extension going to be developed for Firefox as
well?
I hoped to test it and give you some feedback, but Chrome isn't
my
default browser hence I'm not comfortable with it to test
    something there right now.
Also I never even installed an extension on this browser, so...

Looking forward to see this one in Firefox, and my apologies if
I'm asking too much. Take your time :)

        Hi!

I just wanted to announce that I'm now releasing a Chrome
        Extension for automatic captcha solving.

You can download the extension here:
        http://www.screenreader.ai/download_captcha_solver.html

I'm a sighted machine learning researcher that recently have
caught an eye on the field of web accessibility.

Websites are primarily designed to be interacted with
visually
which is hard to do if you have a visual impairment. Here I
think there's big potential for AI to help and look at the
web
page visually and then give correct and helpful information
to
the visually impaired or blind user.

I'm also the creator of the newly created but fairly popular
NVDA add-on, "Image Describer", can be found at NVDA add-ons
list, (if you're interested in trying out):
        https://addons.nvda-project.org/index.en.html

I'm looking towards doing much more than this, please contact
me or reply to this thread if you want to get help with
something accessibility wise or have any kind of feedback.

No, Issac, the entirety of your previous post is:  "Hi, is it true that a new windows 10 is coming, and what will it be called and when is the release."  There is nothing, nothing whatsoever, related to NVDA in it.  Hence the reason for my prior message.

I have yet to see any recent version of NVDA break secondary to a Windows 10 feature update.  I guess it could happen, but it's sure not likely.

There is a "new Windows 10" coming approximately once every 6 months, like it has been since July 2015.   These are known as Feature Updates and bump the Version Number and Build Number for Windows 10.  The next Feature Update is currently scheduled for May (moved back from March) and will have Version Number 1903.  The page at Microsoft to check, and which is kept constantly up to date, with regard to the Windows Release Schedule is:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10/release-information

Now, after having answered that question completely, I'll also declare that it is entirely off-topic.  The answer to the one question members should ask themselves before posting to this list, "Is what I’m about to ask related to using NVDA directly to accomplish something, using a specific program with NVDA, or to control NVDA itself?," is unquestionably, "No."

The Windows 10 for Screen Reader Users is a great group, and you'll find me there as well.  For Windows 10 questions I suggest joining it, and here are the addresses:
The group home page for that group is:  https://win10.groups.io/g/win10
and their group archive, which is open to the public for review and searching, is:  https://win10.groups.io/g/win10/topics

It becomes even more difficult to figure out when multiple lists dedicated to the same subject matter area present themselves in one place [there are at least two JAWS groups on Groups.io]
And why there are more than one group for the very same thing is beyond me.
Honestly, if there's a group dedicated to deal with something, unless the other one is a subgroup to deal with another subject on the same topic or something like that, I don't see any reason why people would want it to be this way.
However, they seem to be happy with it, so who am I to disagree?

I’ve never used this particular one, but this seems to be the case with other media players too, like Winamp and Foobar. All have a lot of skin options available; most of them seem to break accessibility somehow.

Kostadin,

Brilliant!  (and arcane).   I would never, in a million years, have found this, or probably even tried it had I gotten to those settings, since the skinned version of the context menu presents precisely the same information as the system version does.  It must be the skin overlay that is the root of the accessibility problem.

Works like a charm after tweaking that setting (or at least the menu does).  I restarted the player even though it didn't force me to do so.

Re: addons list

Marcio,

Both Gene and yourself are way more in-tune with the scene surrounding e-mail lists (or at least strict e-mail lists, not a hybrid of list and forum like Groups.io) than I am.

It's interesting, and sometimes unpredictable, as to which lists are still active and where.   It becomes even more difficult to figure out when multiple lists dedicated to the same subject matter area present themselves in one place [there are at least two JAWS groups on Groups.io].
