That's craziness. Why would Microsoft ask you to upgrade to ten for all 7 or 8 systems then you get this error.

Re: FW: DTP Software

I have always worked in markup, even in old sighted
days, so have never used any form of design software.
I do still visualise how the output should be
rendering, but, it means I can use CSS to sort of hard-code positioning, using
things like absolute positioning, if I want to.
But, yes, I think I understand what you're saying,
and, I have always been a backend, data-integration developer, who also works on
functionality, some of which requires forms of layout manipulation, but, haven't
really done much with design, other than implement it using
style-sheeting.

the portable version works well going from pc to pc etc if you know how to get it up and running. I was looking at where places lock down the computers and use exe blocking software. here where we live we are lucky we can go up to any pc on the APN network and use a copy of NVDA as there is a copy installed on every machine on the library network. It also has it so a portable version can be used. But then if I go to a information centre they are locked down there is no adaptive technologies on any of the public terminals throughout the country. I am looking into getting access to those machines but these are under 78 councils that service these public terminals. I know I might be able to get access to these terminals with them installing a copy of nvda onto them if they allow it that would be good. But if they do not allow it then I was seeing if it or nvda could be accessed and used from the web like web any where. Gene nz

Hi Jacob, It isn’t the purpose to use CSS for books, and other, non-webfiles! But, do you know any way to be sure of the working of a CSS sheet? I mean, when I make a CSS-file, I cannot see it because I am blind! Do you know a solution to this without a sighted person? Thanks for your tip and your aswer. Regards, Jordy

Hi there
Closest would come, myself, and, based on that your message sender name is webmaster... I would suggest just using CSS style sheeting, inside a webpage?
And, I say this since have no idea about any actual DTP software, but, am a backend web-developer myself...<smile>

Five to seven favorite metro apps
David Mehler
Hello Everyone,
I've got an unexpected opportunity to do some training. One of the avenues will be NVDA and Windows 10. This is from a newbie perspective to both NVDA and to Windows 10. What I'd like to know and this is to those of you who use Universal apps, also known as Metro apps, I'd like to know your Five to seven favorite (most accessible can not live without them), metro apps. I'd also like to know the opposite of that, three metro apps you'd love to use, but they are just not accessible. Thanks. Dave.

Re: Windows update doesn't work
Brian's Mail list account BY <bglists@...>
Yes me too, one of the biggest issues with windows seems to be on a machine which is not always on the internet, ie has no network or dongle or whatever.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I find that since a lot of updates like anti virus and monthly updates happen in the background one can get into a position where the machine resets for no apparent reason randomly. The only fix I've found for this was to take it to a permanent location with a connection and let it sort itself out, can take a day or so for it to stabilise. In the old days of XP it was relatively easy to stop everything trying to update itslef, but since more recent versions I've noticed that this is not so easy at all, and with third party programs things get a whole lot worse. Unfortunately due to the nature of where the machine is used, the internet cannot be allowed to do as it likes as its charged by the gig, and its a charity paying the bills! Nobody seems to have thought about this problem very much. Brian bglists@blueyonder.co.uk Sent via blueyonder.
