You need to go to old.reddit.com every time you want to use this. There are scripts and extensions for various browsers that will do this automatically for you, depending on which browser you use. I personally have this user script installed: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/40897-old-reddit-please you’ll need an extension like greasemonkey to install these kind of scripts. There’s also this extension for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/old-reddit-redirect/

The new chromium based edge browser crashing or closing

hurrikennyandopo ...

Hi guys

Has any one noticed in the last couple of days when you go to use the new chromium based edge browser it seems to close or crash then closes.  Even if you do a alt/tab it does not show in the task bar. You use it for a little bit then it does it again.

it did not used  to do it but i thin with the dev channel it updated early on this week. I do have the log which i can paste into this email.

It used to go quite well before that so some thing has changed.

I am using the latest beta shot of nvda alog with windows 1903. I think it also crashes with the stable version of nvda 2019.1.1 as well

I can post the log in if i hear it is more than just me.

office 365 and nvda: save dialogue

Daniel Wolak

Hi all,

This may be slightly off-topic for this list. It is however a brief
question, so I hope will be resolved rather quickly.

I've recently upgraded from office 2010 to 365, and now notice that the
save dialogue has changed.

Instead of a traditional save dialogue, I am now presented with various
groupings of folders such as recents, accessed through the ribbon. Even
pressing enter on a folder such as documents doesn't yield the save
dialogue, I have to tab over several times until I find the button of
this folder name to click on. I'm just wondering if there is a way to
change this behaviour?

Many thanks,

Daniel

Re: After starting Ccleaner is restart Nvda

Never had that problem.

That shouldn't happen, I have noticed that sometimes when things change about in the program it goes stupid and I have to alt tab a couple times but thats not a big deal usually.

I have never had it restart nvda.

You need to reduce the number of columns being displayed, and also, make sure the bard express program is not in advanced view. Simple view. The bard express support email is below, I'd write to them about this.

If any of the developers are using this program from NLS would it be possible to configure an addon that would read all of the annotation? At this point it reads only the first 14 words then jumps to the narrator. Jaws reads all of the annotation but I would prefer not having to switch screen readers for one program.

At the company that I work for, Microsoft OneNote is heavily used for various purposes. When I look at the Microsoft recommendations on making accessible OneNote documents, it recommends many of the same things for making accessible Word documents and emails (headings, links with descriptive text, etc. However, NVDA does not seem to support browse mode when I am in OneNote, so I am unable to take advantage of semantic markup like headings. JAWS also does not seem to support browse mode. However, Narrator supports browse mode (called scan mode) in OneNote.

Am I correct that NVDA does not support browse mode in OneNote? This means that I also am not able to bring up the elements dialog.

Issue with nvdaremote

Hi guys so in the recent update of nvvda i have been having this issue with nvdaremote where when I try to put up a key it rejects me from the nvdaremote menu and brings me right back to my desktop, or whatever is open at that time. Is anyone else having this issue? And if so is there a fix for it yet?

Re: New autosave feature in Microsoft Office

Quentin Christensen

Hi Rick,

Autosave is now the first item in the Quick Access Toolbar.  You can toggle it on and off with ALT+1 (any other items in the Quick Access Toolbar are accessed with alt+2, alt+3 and so on).

You can customise the Quick Access Toolbar from the Word Options - press ALT+F then T, then CONTROL+TAB down to "Quick Access Toolbar".

Regards

Quentin.
