With regard to NVDA "Official" Add-Ons, there are two main pages one can go to for same:

Stable Versions: https://addons.nvda-project.org/index.en.html

Versions Under Development: https://addons.nvda-project.org/dev.en.html

There is some overlap between the content on those two pages, as many stable add-ons are also undergoing ongoing development. Those that are in earlier stages are only on the Under Development page.

It so happens that instantTranslate <https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/instantTranslate.en.html> falls into the "under development" category and if you click through on the link you'll find the version if you search for the word "Changes," which lands you in the history area for the add-on.

Re: Is there a podcast

Quentin Christensen

As noted, we haven't put out a podcast since late 2015.  In place of that, we have a fortnightly blog called "In-Process" which contains most of the news and information that we might otherwise put in a podcast.  You can find In-Process here:  https://www.nvaccess.org/category/in-process/

So I guess the other thing I'd ask, is there anything you feel would be better covered in a podcast format than the blog?  Or is there anything you'd like from a podcast that we're not providing already?

Off the top of my head, I can think of how in a podcast, we could more easily say "NVDA has a new feature, and here's what it sounds like...".  I've started experimenting with creating short videos recently.  The first one we've released is the "What is NVDA?" video which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCFyyqy9mqo  My thought is that using the blog, we could then say "NVDA has a new feature, here's a video demonstrating it" with a link to a youtube video.

Anyway, we're always keen to hear from people and what is wanted, so do please let me know.

Kind regards

Quentin.

Afternoon everyone.

I've just come across a problem and after testing it on google chrome

I'm trying to read a chapter of a story but, halfway down NVDA would

but, I've never had this problem before.

The restarts happens when it gets to the line. "Things were taking a

I would recommend using a true text editor when working with Python  code. Notepad++ works fairly well. I have also heard good things about visual studio.

If you are throwing commands at python interpreter, the NVDA console could be used but there are several advantages to using an independent editor that also understands Python syntax.

Yeah, just press NVDA key + F12, by default.

And as a general helpful tip for this sort of thing, always check the Quick Commands Guide, which is simple when NVDA's running:

NVDA Key + N, H, Q   Opens the Quick Commands Reference in your default web browser.  Then search based on a keyword related to the command you're seeking.  Doing so for the word time takes you straight to the Report Date/Time command, which Monte's already given.

Kenny <kwashingtonbox@...>

Once you click on the Windows 10 button for download, scroll down to the bottom of page. You'll notice a link tagged "Accept and download." You click/press [Enter] on it to begin the download process. There are also two other check boxes for acceptance of terms (Which are checked as default) right above that link.

Whenever you encounter a situation when clicking on a link or button element on a webpage and nothing seems to happen, scroll down to the very bottom of the page. ([Ctrl+End]) Then start arrowing up to locate related information linked to what you clicked. You can also navigate to the very top of the page ([Ctrl+Home]) and start arrowing down. There's usually some sort of Html popover page that has been triggered that you need to interact with to continue the process.

Hi Group,

Thanks for the heads up on this one. Usually, I'm pretty good at scopingout such issues, but this time, you had to read through the whole license agreement and then way at the very end was an actual link that said 'accept and download.'  A bit clumsy, but usable once you know what is going on.

That wasn't for clickable items.  That was for mouse over links.  But perhaps something like that might be done for what I'm discussing.  The problem is how the screen-reader would know when to report something.  With mouse over links it did so when you used a special mouse over command, but this would be for activating standard controls.

1.  Visit https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download/
2.  Navigate to the Dev (development version) the best stable version.
3.  There is a button associated with the download of this browser for Windows 10.
4.  Try activating it.
5.  The result is that whether you press enter, space bar or route review to the button and left click, nothing happens.

I would be interested to see if anyone else experiences the same issue.

They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes.
They ask: "How Happy are You?"
I Say: "I'm as happy as a stow away chimpanzee on a banana boat!"
