How to make sure that formatting is perfect in Excel

Mohd. Ahtesham Shaikh

Hi friends,
I have a job where formatting is very important in excel. I always face issues relating to some text getting hidden in a cell due to reasons like cell size being small, alignment/ indentation of the text or any thing like this.
Is there any training tutorial or podcast which gives training on tackling such issues and preparing a perfectly formatted excel based document like purchase order. Any clarification needed to understand this problem is always welcome. Please help me in this matter. It is affecting my performance at my work place.

I have found that that disfunction varies from keyboard to keyboard. You have the alternative of pressing shift+f10.

I use linkedIn all the time w/NVDA w/o difficulty. It's not the most
accessible thing in the world, but it's very usable. There is no theme
button in linkedin.

notepad++ version 7.7 x86 on windows xp, works perfectly with my

silent.

In fact, NVDA seems to not work properly following the installation of the

Has anyone else experienced this? How can I figure out what is causing the

Re: ABREVIATIONS AND WORDS

Use the dictionary to correct the improper expansion of abbreviations.  This isn't NVDA doing anything.  It’s the designers of whatever synthesizer you are using who told the synthesizer to speak abbreviations as you are hearing them.

Hi Folks,

I am using nvda 2019.1 with win 7.

Sometimes nvda interprets things wrongly.

For instance;

---drive instead of doctor,

---suite instead of street,

---in the call number of a book, “aud”  is spoken as “Australian dollars”.

I have done nothing with pronounciation or dictionaries.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Monte

Re: Google chrome notifications and NVDA

Gene

Do you want such notifications in the first place?  When a site asks me if I want notifications, I always say no.  but only say yes if you want them.  and be careful, because disreputable sites or hacked advertising may offer you notifications as a form of spam.

I don't know the answer to your question.  But if you don't want to see notifications at all, I believe you can turn notifications off in Chrome.  Someone else may know how that is done.

Re: ABREVIATIONS AND WORDS

Monte,

I would suggest using the Default Dictionary for tweaking this.

If you have several specific examples of where each is being pronounced incorrectly it's easier to advise on precisely what you would want to do.  I am a huge fan of regular expression matching in the dictionaries because they allow you to construct generalized patterns that will capture the vast majority of the situations you want them to while intentionally ignoring those that don't fit.

Under JAWS I once had to do the same thing for the word "cup" which, when used in recipes, was almost always being announced as Cuban pesos.

Re: Google chrome notifications and NVDA

This is a serious question:  What notifications?

I've never had YouTube send me any notification as I never turned any on in YouTube settings, and Facebook (which I almost never touch, except for the account I have for my business) has never sent me one, either, at least not via my web browser.  If you're getting push notifications in the browser that's almost certainly something you've turned on (or someone else has) on the respective sites.

Also, as an aside, I stay logged out on YouTube even if logged in on other Google services.

NVDA is only reading what's being generated as far as notifications go, and you should have the option to turn those off.
