Sam,
The fastest way would be to go to the 64bit version of Office 365 as long you have a 64bit Windows. But don’t forget that you would have to uninstall and re-install Office and that would lead to loosing your Outlook settings. I wrote Cyrille a message about the problem, She is taking care about the current addon. I’m going to find a solution together with her to get this solved. I can offer you my older addon outlook enhanced in the meantime, I modified it so that it works with the new control-ID’s.
Cheers, Ralf

Hi Ralf,
Yes, you are correct. Is it better for me to wait until the fix – or better for me to upgrade to the 64bit version? I would be grateful for your recommendation.
Thanks, Sam

Hello,
I’m one of the co-authors of this addon. Am I right that you are using office365 32bit version? We discovered a problem that Microsoft changed some control-ID’s in the 32bit versions of Outlook and that’s why the Alt-numkeys aren’t working anymore. I’m sure that a future update of the addon will handle this issue.

labeling the button objects in decTalk speak windows
Josh Kennedy <joshknnd1982@...>
Hi, In jaws I can turn on its accessibility driver, and then the jaws cursor shows me the graphics in the old windows95 decTalk speak window notepad-type applications and I can click the graphics for play, different voices, rate faster, rate slower, and so on. Only after turning on the legacy accessibility driver does this work. So my question is this, how can I easily, as a person who is not a programmer, *easily* label these buttons with NVDA? I turned on speak tooltips and routed the mouse but there are no tooltips, OCR does not help either. Can someone please make an addon so I can relabel and reclass objects as I come across them using object navigation, please?

Re: mumble with nvda?
Tyler Spivey
Yes. There's a bug with the keyboard hook which breaks NVDA's use of the keyboard while in Mumble.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
The fix is to deal with it long enough to go to options, Settings, Shortcuts and shift+tab until you find Enable Windows hooks and uncheck it. There's also a .reg file floating around if you prefer that. If this isn't in your version, upgrade to 1.3 RC.

Re: Editing a Cell in Microsoft Excel
Ed Marquette
Thank you. I will know now to check the message archives. The suggested solution, though the most counterintuitive I have ever experienced, worked like a charm.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Who would have thought that disabling the editing of cells would, in fact, enable the editing of cells with a screen reader. As I noted in my first message, the problem affected JAWS and NVDA in exactly the same way . I was fearing that the problem stemmed from our overly-paranoid security conscious IT department. We have so many things locked down that just working is sometimes hard. Again, however, thank you. I am sending this message, not just to say thank you (those tend to clutter list serves, but to let others know that the prescribed fix, which actually seems silly and counterintuitive, really works. I am surprised it is not more widely published.

NVDA add-on: Developer toolkit 2019.1.1 now available.
Andy B.
Hi, Developer toolkit 2019.1.1 is ready for download. Release announcement: https://github.com/ajborka/nvda_developer_toolkit/releases/tag/2019.1.1 Direct download: https://github.com/ajborka/nvda_developer_toolkit/releases/download/2019.1.1/developerToolkit-2019.1.1.nvda-addon Repository: https://github.com/ajborka/nvda_developer_toolkit Mailing list: http://www.groups.io/g/nvda-developer-toolkit
Developer toolkit (DTK) is an NVDA add-on that assists blind and visually impaired developers to independently create visually appealing user interfaces or web content. This is done by enabling DTK, navigating around the user interface or web content, then performing gestures to obtain information about the appearance, location, and size of the focused control. To enable or disable DTK, press alt+windows+k on your keyboard. 2019.1.1 • DTK will no longer attempt to load itself multiple times when announcing the version number. • DTK will be disabled on install. Previously, the add-on would enable itself when installed. • Messages presented to the user can now contain non-ascii characters. • Pressing gestures such as a, b, c, f, h, l, r, s, t, v, and w no longer interupt NVDA speech when copying to the clipboard.

I’m using latest version of NVDA, Windows 10 , and Office 2016. F2 is working for me. Cursor is always at end of what is in the cell. If NVDA isn’t speaking when you arrow back through cell contents, try doing an Alt/Tab to get out of and then again to get back into the Excel program. See if that gets NVDA speaking the cell contents while using F2 command.
