You didn't say what browser you are using.
You are getting the error because the browser doesn't have the protocol, if that
is the correct word, used by the site to make a secure connection.
Whatever browser you are using, you will be able to open
the page with a browser that can communicate with the site
securely.

For some reason when he installs the remote addon it sits in addon manager with the statement “enabled after restart” we have restarted several times and rebooted his win10 c. We even went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling NVDA AND WE STILL GET THE VERY SAME MESSAGE.

Re: NVDA and Words+ EZ Keys: arrow keys not working
Tyler Spivey
Here's how you fix that. First, check if EZ Keys has a setting to send the extended arrow keys. If so, enable it and you should be fine.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
If not, then we need to unbind the keypad keys. To do that, open the NVDA menu, Settings, Input Gestures. Expand Text review in the tree. Here's what maps to what: Reports the line of the current navigator object where the review cursor is situated: numpad 8 Reports the character of the current navigator object where the review cursor is situated. Numpad 2 Moves the review cursor to the previous word of the current navigator object and speaks it: Numpad 4 Moves the review cursor to the next word of the current navigator object and speaks it: Numpad 6 Expand each of them, select the numpad key and hit remove. The other numpad keys are bound in there as well, e.g. home/end/pgup/pgdn. Once you unbind what you need, you then might want to either switch to laptop layout so more things are bound to NVDA+something, or start re-binding stuff. Any of the default NVDA binds that use the arrow keys probably won't work, but you can just rebind things.

I tried going to autohotkeys again, and I remapped the four numpad keys to the literal arrow keys as follows: Numpad4::Left Numpad6::Right Numpad8::Up Numpad2::Down But when I load NVDA, the arrow keys still don't work. And choosing arrow keys still speak numpad numbers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate! Thanks! Darren

For some reason it doesn't work for you, so I came up with something else. I wrote an addon that makes NVDA think sticky keys is enabled, which triggers the code that gives you a sticky modifier key, and only affects NVDA. Download this addon and install it. Once done, whatever keys you have checked as modifiers in keyboard settings will stick for one press. You should then be able to tell EZ Keys to press caps lock or insert, then press t to read the window title. NVDA should beep when you press the modifier. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bc10qxbesqxf91p/stickyModifier-0.1.nvda-addon?dl=1 On 8/1/2019 4:36 PM, Gabbert, Darren wrote: I did check, and "Handle keys from other applications" is checked.

Re: Very weird one!
There is a unrestricted dectalk voice package from enablerehab. email them, enablerehab@.... Sadly the biggest issue with the port is that the volume on the voices are all kinds of messed up and they don't know why. I did pay 10 bucks for it, but yeah. The deal is that they need to give phonix anything, so 50 cents or more they don't care really. So its basically pay what you want if you are die hard enough. The deal started because people started pirating it but its not a major selling point in fact its discontinued, because of low sales. Point is its not free but you can get it for basically nothing if you really give a damn. It did cost 10 bucks origionally so I payed for it because I anted it but I have never used it and well with eloquence the way it is, I won't be doing that anymore.

your question is somewhat confusing as worded, but in the current issue of AFB Access World there is an article about a program called "Fresh Books" which is supposedly similar to Quick Books, but more accessible and easy to use.

Hi Steven
have a look on the following page but jump right down to the bottom called Deployment of NVDA
The link to this page is https://www.nvaccess.org/corporate-government/ There might be some other information if you are running a large network that you might require.
The other parts that you might use are found in this section of the user guide where this option is also.

Re: NVDA And Vista
hurrikennyandopo ...
Hi
The latest version of nvda you can use on vista is nvda 2017.3 if i remember right.
Maybe if quentin is emailed he might be able to point you in the right direction for it or some one might have a copy on the list.

Re: Sluggish NVDA for Weeks
Betsy,
I know so little about Thunderbird that I have no idea what you mean buy message pane and how to access it.Message pane is something that as far as I know every email client has. It will allow you to see the message without actually opening it, it's kind of hard to explain. Some people like this feature. I used to like it when I first started using Thunderbird but it quickly turned out to be more of an annoyance than something else, specially because it will mark all messages as read as soon as you land on them, until or unless you disable the pane or configure Thunderbird differently. Now with the proper introductions in place, it's time to know how to disable it. For this, just press your F8 key. Sorry for my ignorance.Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. We are all learners to some degree :) And after writing all of this I've realised that it's way more about Thunderbird than about NVDA. So if you need more help, contact me privately or better yet, see you on our Thunderbird group! :) It's worth noticing, also, that another plaace where we can talk about it is the Chat Subgroup, where we discuss anything that's not directly related to NVDA. If you want to subscribe, send a blank email to chat+subscribe@nvda.groups.io. Hope this helps :) Cheers, Marcio AKA Starboy Sent from a galaxy far, far away. --Are you a Thunderbird user? There is a SAPI5 version of

I have notice that when I am in my thunderbird inbox and I will start to read it will stop talking and I will have to restart my nvda. After I do this and I alt tab back in to my email it says thunderbird not responding. I have had this problem for about a week or so. I am using the rc of nvda2019.2 but it also did it on nvda 2019.1. I have the addon for the motzellainhancments inable.

Re: CodeFactory eloquence and vocalizer licenses
Don,
If you purchase the Sapi5 voices why purchase the NVDA addon?Well, Josh explained it on this very same thread :) And, thanks to this explanation, now I know the real difference between the sapi voice and the add-on for it. Josh wrote: So, why did I personally decide to spend $184 on both the sapi5 and the addon you may ask? I spent the $184 so the sapi5 voices could stay permanently on my computer, but if I ever want to take NVDA with me to someone else's computer I can choose to do that just by making a portable copy of NVDA and putting it onto a flash drive with the codeFactory addon, while leaving my sapi5 voices behind. It is far easier to quickly run and register an addon rather than installing and uninstalling sapi5 voices on each computer I may go to. so the sapi5 voices remain stationary on my machine and my machine only. while the addon can come with me on a flash drive if I wish, use it on another machine then deactivate its license when I am done using it, like at a library. Re: how can i set nvda that does not wrapp long hyperlinks?
Well, indeed this line, for example, is being presented as two
lines:
Notepad++ Installer 32-bit x86: Take this one if you have no idea which one you should take. GPG SignatureBut that's about it. Actually, what is on the second line is more of the description than something about the link itself. So on the other hand, it's not that big of a deal at all. Re: DECTalk speech
Josh Kennedy <joshknnd1982@...>
I think he is referring to the sapi5 decTalk on the flameOfHope website in the decTalk_reader1.iso file that you can extract and install using 7zip which you can easily get from www.ninite.com ... 7zip is on the ninite website. But I am not sure of the legality of that sapi5 decTalk, though.
