No the voices you can download from fs are built to fs products

That is highly unlikely. I haven't heard, as I recall, one complaint about using SAPI 5 voices with JAWS on the lists I am on and I've been on them for a long time.
I also suspect that the free more human sounding voices you can download from the JAWS site, whose name I don't remember are SAPI 5.

Maybe jaws does not have good sapi5 support? Both NVDA and Jim Kitchen's games from the audio games archive work fine and the voices do not crash at all. Maybe the sapi5 interface for jaws has bugs that make it crash?

Re: Regarding captcha solver
Gene
As I recall, Webvisum allows four captchas to be
solved free per day. Some arrangement like that would seem to be the best
since it allows light users to do what they need to do and would keep heavy
users, such as spam bots from using it. Four times a day would be
worthless to a spammer.

Robert Doc Wright godfearer
I do not know why you are having this problem. I have been using the windows 10 mail app for the last three years. When I open an email I just use the down arrow to read. What I would prefer is that the messages AKA list of emails were next to all accounts. I have several email accounts and when I am done with one I need to tab five times to change accounts.

hello all! I am so glad that you brought that up about how the Windows mail app is acting. I have had exactly the same problem in the Windows 10 mail app, what I have to do, is use the review cursor reading commands to read the mail message with the review cursor, find where I want to edit, and then press the key command to move the focus to where the review cursor is, and then I can cracked my mistakes. The the review cursor is the only way I can read an email. You are cracked, if I simply use the up and down arrow keys the focus will not say the correct text at all for what is on each line and the message that you are typing in the mail app. Nvda has not worked well in the Windows 10 mail app for a long time when it comes to typing, reading, and doing just about anything with messages. I have to use many round about ways to even use the Windows 10 mail app oh, like I said, I have to read messages with the review cursor. David Moore

Re: annoying "line feed" characters.

If speech dictionaries are profile dependent, you could create and activate a config profile for your editor, then change "line feed" to space in the speech dictionary, and then save your config profile.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I don't actually know if dictionaries are saved separately with profiles, however--I suspect not. In which case you could only do this system wide. Or write a tiny add-on to deal with it. Luke

Hi I don’t use firefox. But I bet clapsed and expanded does get old and annoying. I hope you get your problem resolved. I don’t have firefox installed on this win ten machine. I had that problem with my old win 7 before it died.

Issue with NVDA, Thunderbird, and pasting links
Scott Berry <sb356607@...>
Hello there,
I am noticing while pasting links in to my emails that NVDA 2019RC2 is taking some time to realize that the email link has been pasted in to the message. Usually I always read my messages before sending unless I am in a hurry and I notice that when the link is first embedded it doesn't want to read the link unless I go up and down with the arrows several times. It can vary how many times this is done. Here are the exact steps I take. 1. Open Thunderbird. 2. Open a new message with Control plus N. 3. I first write the message and when I get to the point where I think the link needs to be embedded I have the link in the clipboard and paste it in to the message. 3A. I always try to make sure the link actually embeds so I will especially just look for the link by going up and down as well. 4. Usually at this point is where I proof read the message and here is where NVDA has a hard time attempting to read the link. NVDA is great and I use it every day for my work as a patient advocate. I prefer it over any other screen reader that Windows can provide me with. -- Scott Berry Certified Medical Office Assistant, Associates in Allied Health, Patient Advocate Please boogie on over to our site at: http://www.berrysadvocating.biz

disabling NVDA collapse/expanded prompt in firefox 68.01
Orhan Deniz <orhan.deniz63@...>
Hi. probably something really obvious I'm missing here but has anyone
figured out a way to disable the NVDA collapsed/expanded prompt in the firefox address bar of version 66 and upwards? I find it to be slightly irritating and cumbersome as I just type my address and then move on, I don't need to know whether its expanded or collapsed in this instance. I have also disabled autofill in about:config however I believe this is something to do more with NVDA than ff. also using NVDA 19.1. Cheers, Orhan.

Yes - these commands are native to encoders - or rather, for some of them. F9 is native to SAM encoders, while in SPL encoders, F9 presses "connect" button. F11 series (including Shift=F11 and Control+F11) is used to set various encoder options specific to NVDA such as focusing to Studio when connecting and/or playing the first selected track. Cheers, Joseph
