Everyone is talking about mail app’s signature here and there, but nobody is reporting to the concern authority which is Microsoft disability answer desk because they do not accept that this is accessibility related issue. Hi,
I am trying to set up email signatures in the Windows 10 mail app. Unfortunately, when I go to settings>signatures and try to put focus on what looks to be an edit field, NVDA doesn’t read anything. In fact, it appears to get stuck after tabbing through the formatting toolbar. So, how would I create my email signatures?

Control Usage Assistant: coming back to life, version 2.5/nightlight version is on its way
#addonrelease
Hi everyone,
For users of Control Usage Assistant: reports of its demise has greatly been exaggerated…
I’m delighted to announce that Control Usage Assistant is being resurrected i.e. supported again. This add-on added a command (NVDA+H) that gives you a handy help message for working with the focused control, similar to help messages from other screen readers.
Originally, Derek Riemer, a member of the NVDA community, was planning to maintain this add-on. After a short Twitter conversation, it was decided that I’ll maintain it after all. Thus, the “end of life” (EOL) tag is gone.
Speaking of resurrecting this add-on several big announcements:
Other key features of the big update:
For those keeping an eye on GitHub issues: for a number of years you may have seen a request for context-sensitive help for NVDA. The issue in question is 2699 and can be found at: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/2699
In fact, development of Control Usage Assistant began shortly after that issue appeared. In other words, what you will see with the next big update is really a prototype for a feature that might be included in a future NVDA release (and yes, I know I start to sound very repetitive, but there is a pull request for this feature somewhere that will look similar to Control Usage Assistant generation 3).
I’m sure you’d like to test the next big update. I plan to release a prototype development snapshot of that release in a few weeks, which will require NVDA 2019.1 or later.
Tanks. Cheers, Joseph

Re: A Possible Bug with NVDA Find Function
Luke,
What browser, site, and search text are you using?I'm using Firefox. I've tried to search through my emails using the web interface. I was searching for a name, and typing it with lowercase letters yield no results at all. When I tried searching for it with the first letter being an uppercase I found what I was searching for. Apparently though this isn't a generalized situation and that's good. Now I only need to find out what's going on here. A Possible Bug with NVDA Find Function
Hi,
Apparently, even though with the checkbox about upper and lowercase letters unchecked, NVDA is behaving the same way as though it's checked. Can someone confirm this? It is, but the price model was excellent. So something like 3-4 captchas a day for free, then if you want to dip into the amount of credits you bought, let's say $1.19 or $2 or 20 captchas which expire every 3 or 5 months then that would keep the spammers out. Issues when using NVDA with comments in MS Word
Akshaya Choudhary
Hello guys,
I'm facing several following issues while using NVDA with word: 1. NVDA doesn't announce anything while entering a comment section. By pressing Alt+R, N, we can enter the next comment in the document, NVDA successfully enters the comment section, but no announcement is made. When I arrow up and down to read the text, it is then an announcement is made. It states comment section, then reads out the text in the comment section. Sometimes no announcement is made while exiting to the main body of the text also. 2. No announcement is made while jumping from one comment to the other. When in a particular comment you can simply jump to the next by pressing say all command or by simply Ctrl and down arrow, NVDA doesn't announce comments being jumped. You wouldn't know in which comment you are. It is very difficult to know where a particular comment ends. 3. Impossible to edit a comment without entering the comment section. Using the letter A in browse mode, it is possible to jump from comment mark up to comment mark up within the body of the main text, but it is not possible to edit it from there itself. After navigating to a particular mark up, the context menu after pressing the application key doesn't provide the option of editing the comment. Although, I think I remember seeing the edit option once, I'm not sure though. I would be grateful for any help in these issues. I would say, NVDA not announcing anything while entering a comment section and while jumping one comment section to the other is creating most difficulty and ambiguity for me. Regards

Using OCR on Images on the Web
Bhavya shah
Dear all,
For most digital OCR purposes, I simply use the OCR add-on for NVDA. However, whilst coming across graphics and images on the web, which purely contain neat plain text, I am unable to utilize the OCR add-on. What I mean by this is that pressing NVDA+R and then using object review to review the scanning results on Firefox yields absolutely nothing for that image. I was wondering if there are alternative strategies to employ to perform OCR on images on the Internet viewed using browsers like Firefox to extract and access the text. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or inputs on this matter. Thanks. -- Best Regards Bhavya Shah Blogger at Hiking Across Horizons: https://bhavyashah125.wordpress.com/ E-mail Address: bhavya.shah125@gmail.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bhavyashah125/

Yes, I'd be very interested in finding out if DecTalk can be used with nvda and the new Python version coming soon. The natural sounding ones are great for casual novel reading but they just don't work well if sped up much.

I do not know why you are having this problem. I have been using the windows 10 mail app for the last three years. When I open an email I just use the down arrow to read. What I would prefer is that the messages AKA list of emails were next to all accounts. I have several email accounts and when I am done with one I need to tab five times to change accounts.

hello all! I am so glad that you brought that up about how the Windows mail app is acting. I have had exactly the same problem in the Windows 10 mail app, what I have to do, is use the review cursor reading commands to read the mail message with the review cursor, find where I want to edit, and then press the key command to move the focus to where the review cursor is, and then I can cracked my mistakes. The the review cursor is the only way I can read an email. You are cracked, if I simply use the up and down arrow keys the focus will not say the correct text at all for what is on each line and the message that you are typing in the mail app. Nvda has not worked well in the Windows 10 mail app for a long time when it comes to typing, reading, and doing just about anything with messages. I have to use many round about ways to even use the Windows 10 mail app oh, like I said, I have to read messages with the review cursor. David Moore
