Maybe there is a better site, and I don't know if
this suggestion will make the site useable enough to bother but you could have
the page opened in two browsers. One could be on the names, the other
could be in the numberz table. You could move down the names in one
browser, alt tab to the other, and find the numbers that correspond.Â
For example, move five names from the top and in
the numbers table. move five sets of numbers down.

a site problem. If you try to move while on a name, you will hear NVDA
announce edge of table.
If you are in the numbers, you can move. The
numbers are a separate table. For some unfathomable reason, the names are
in their own table. Visually, it may look identical but it
isn't.

If you open the NVDA 19.2 user guide, and, find the heading level 5, "Use UI Automation to access the Windows Console when available", then under it, you will find the text I copied, including a link to the following page on windows accessibility:

https://devblogs.microsoft.com/commandline/whats-new-in-windows-console-in-windows-10-fall-creators-update/ And, the title of that page is the following: What’s new in Windows Console in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update". In other words, it sounds to me like NVDA is trying to keep up to date with what windows 10 development team is doing themselves? The Audio Themes add-on has been a bit unstable for a while, and in some circumstances could really slow down NVDA in all 2019 versions.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
In 2019.2, I believe it became unstable enough that it has been removed from stable add-ons on the website. I think I heard that it is being worked on, however. So there is some hope for those who liked it, that it will be back eventually. But for now, if you use it, expect oddness. Luke

Vincent, from the what's new documentation/feature listing:
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Use UI Automation to access the Windows Console when available When this option is enabled, NVDA will use a new, work in progress version of its support for Windows Console which takes advantage of accessibility improvements made by Microsoft. This feature is highly experimental and is still incomplete, so its use is not yet recommended. However, once completed, it is anticipated that this new support will become the default, improving NVDA's performance and stability in Windows command consoles. What is UI automation in Windows console for?
Vincent Le Goff <vincent.legoff.srs@...>
Hi everyone,
I recently saw some users advising to turn on the "UI automation in Windows console settings" for those experiencing issues with the Windows console. I'm relying a lot on this console (that is, cmd.exe, not PowerShell) for development, testing and such. I couldn't find what this setting was. I did try to turn it on and, (ho horrors), my Braille display saw nothing but weird characters in the console! So I quickly turned it off. Don't know what the synthesizer reports, but my Braille display doesn't report anything consistent, or even readable. Can someone elaborate on what this setting is supposed to do? There's a good reason it's in "advanced settings", I guess, but if it's bound to be merged and active by default in later versions of NVDA, I will stress that it's not working (at least, in Braille, as far as I could tell). I couldn't find a document that explained this feature in more details, I might have missed it. Just curious here. Cheers, Vincent

Re: NVDA treating an interactive shell running under command line a little bit odd - php interactive interpreter
Jacob Kruger
Ok, for interest's sake, switching on UIA for command line, does interfere with things like object navigation and screen review in the normal cmd.exe interface, so have now set up two separate configuration profiles, so that can easily/quickly switch to the one with UIA switched on when I want to, but, can otherwise normally, keep it switched off.

Fix for explorer crashing in Windows 7
Quentin Christensen
Hi everyone, An issue which has plagued many of our Windows 7 users lately, particularly those who use the mouse, has been explorer crashing in the start menu and other windows. The latest "Alpha" snapshot *should* address this problem. I'd like to encourage anyone who has experienced this issue to please test the latest alpha and let us know if that has in fact fixed the problem. You can download the latest alpha from: https://www.nvaccess.org/files/nvda/snapshots/ - go to the first "download" link. If you haven't used an alpha build before, when you run the downloaded file, it looks like any other version of NVDA. It gives you the license agreement with options to install, create a portable version or continue running. To test this particular fix, you should be able to simply "Continue running" (Which runs a complete version of NVDA, but any changes to settings you make won't be saved). If you find it particularly useful, you can install it, but note that it will offer to update each day or each time a new alpha build is released if you leave check for updates enabled. You will also likely note that it "beeps" more often than a regular stable version of NVDA. This is because it beeps each time an error is encountered. Often, however, errors are dealt with in the background with no adverse effects, so in a stable version of NVDA, a user would never notice it. In the alpha builds, it beeps so that developers testing the build can know that an error has occurred. All things going well, this fix is due to be included in NVDA 2019.3 when it comes out. Sorry, I don't have an anticipated date at this stage, but we will release one or more beta versions, then one or more "RC" or release candidate builds and then the final version. Once again, if you've had the issue with Explorer crashing in Windows 7, please do try the latest alpha snapshot and let us know how it is working for you. Kind regards Quentin. Tips for reporting issues: Please don't say "Using the latest version of Windows 10 and NVDA" when reporting issues
Quentin Christensen
Hi everyone, I've seen a few people report issues lately, and say something along the lines of "I'm using the latest versions of Windows 10 and NVDA". I'm not having a go at anyone over that, but I wanted to share the point of view of trying to recreate your issue in order to help solve it. Even though it seems obvious to you what you are using, it may not narrow it down as much as may be needed to troubleshoot the issue you are having. With Windows 10 - the latest version could mean: - The latest fast insider build - The latest slow insider build - The latest Skip Ahead insider build - The latest regular consumer build - The consumer build from six months before that as Microsoft can do very staggered rollouts over three months or more. - An earlier consumer build because Microsoft have determined that your system can't run the most recent update. For NVDA, there aren't quite as many options if you are running the "Latest" version, but that still could be: - The latest alpha build - Another alpha build from the last 24 hours (we might release more than one alpha build in a day, but if you are relying on the automatic check for updates, it will only check once a day). - The latest Beta or RC build (if we are in a beta or RC cycle at the time) - The latest stable build So, that's something like 24 potential combinations of "the latest versions" of Windows 10 and NVDA! (I must admit, even I didn't think it was that many when I started writing this). When reporting an issue (in the group, via email, on GitHub, or anywhere else), could you please try to: - Give the Windows build number. To find that press WINDOWS+R, type WINVER and press ENTER. - Give the NVDA version number. Press NVDA+N, then H, then A. - Give the version of any other program you are using (EG if you are having a problem in PowerPoint, please advise its version or build number). - Give specific steps to recreate the issue you are having. All of that will help anyone trying to assist you to recreate the issue and give advice as quickly as possible without needing to come back and ask lots of additional questions. Kind regards Quentin. The reason I got the code factory voices it was because I got all of them in a package. The next voices I will probably get if I do, are the more expensive acapella infovox data key flash disk if I ever bother again with this. For what I use, eloquence handles a lot of retro games, and vocaliser will handle just about everything else. While its not realspeak solo by any push, at least its 64 bit and compatible with later oses, which is why I bothered in the first place.
