Re: Bluetooth problem

Tony Malykh

My add-on won't help here unfortunately - since it only works with audio devices.

I have experienced similar connectivity problems a while ago with my bluetooth headphones and it was resolved after installing new bluetooth drivers. Judging by the symptoms you're describing your problem indeed sounds like a driver issue. Disabling power saving options for bluetooth seems to be a reasonable thing to try, but if it doesn't help - update your drivers. You'd have to figure out the name of your bluetooth chip and find most recent drivers for it - this is what helped in my case.

This is the web link:
https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/BluetoothAudio.en.html

And this, copied from the addon page, explains how it works:
"Most bluetooth devices enter standby mode after a few seconds of inactivity. That means that when NVDA starts speaking again, the first split second of sound will be lost. Bluetooth Audio add-on prevents bluetooth devices from entering standby mode by constantly playing a silent sound, that is inaudible to a human ear."

Hope it helps :)

In browse mode, when you are on the link, move the mouse to the link with numpad insert numpad star.  That is the key to the right of the numlock.  In other words, hold down numpad insert and press numpad star.
Then release both keys and left click with numpad star.

If you are using the laptop layout, someone can give you those commands.

If i get sighted help they can use a physical mouse to left click the

Thanks

Re: Bluetooth problem

John,

What Bluetooth card do you have in your machine, and when were the device drivers last updated?   If it's an Intel card they have been churning out update after update for the last several years now and not supplying same to the computer OEMs or Microsoft in a timely manner.   There is a strong symbiotic relationship between device drivers and Windows 10 itself, so it's essential to keep both up to date.

You have no need to know exactly how it will do that.  Most of us have no idea how the programs we use to accomplish anything do what they do, nor do we need to.

Ok, one other advantage, or good usage example here is, if I use windows 10's own SSH command line client to connect to a remote server, while running this latest NVDA alpha, it actually handles the slightly latent feedback/output quite a bit better than the current 19.2 does/would.

Just FYI.

Re: What is UI automation in Windows console for?

Vincent Le Goff

I did test it and it's behaving the same way in Braille, the only difference being the feature is active by default.  So I opened an issue.  For us using Braille, I'm not exaggerating when I say this new feature makes the console totally inaccessible.  This will need, in my opinion, lots of further testing with a Braille display (or in debug mode to read the Braille output, though that's not the best way to debug I guess).  But I do trust that some users here would be as worried as myself about introducing bugs that break Braille accessibility to such an extent (though admittedly I don't know how many Braille users play with the Windows console).

It definitely is. This option would be, and (in the Alpha versions is
already) on by default on recent versions of Windows 10. So if you can
please try with the latest Alpha versions, and if the problem persist
create an issue.

Bluetooth problem

John J. Boyer

Hello,

I have Windows 10 pro, NVDAA 2019.2 and a Focus 40 Blue paired with the computer via Bluetooth. Until a few weeks ago I could turn off the Braille display and
when I turned it on again it would immediately reconnect with the computer. Now when I turn off the display the computer turns off Bluetooth. I have to restart
NVDA to re-establish the connection. I'm lucky that NVDA turns Bluetooth back on! My computer tech tried disabling power management for the Bluetooth card, but
that hasn't helped. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?

Thanks,
John

Obj pad is an nvda add on. Go to the add ons site and look for it, then read the help docs for more info. I use both object nav which is nvda keys and obj pad on programs hat don't like obj nav.

You don't evene need to do that. Use obj nav to get to he sources
window, go into it then obj nav to the tool bar, go into tht, then
click
add. From ther it's 100 percent accessible.

When you are setting up new scenes in OBS, use NvDA's object

Hi.

I've downloaded the program but, nvda aren't reading everything and
the sources tab are not accessible unless I use the mouse. Is there
an
addon for the program?

I found a program called Debut Video Capture Software which can be
used with the menus but, I can't get it to record nvda as I use it.
It
does pick up my laptop microphone but, I haven't tested it to see
if
it works or not.

Hi.

No, don't have a problem with that. I want to make videos for my
youtube
channel showing people how to do things on the computer.

Hi.

Does anyone know of a screen recorder that works with NVDA?

When you initially install Chrome (or virtually any web browser these days) one of the steps is it asking you if you want to start with nothing or to import from one of your other browsers.  If you choose the latter, then you will be presented with a dialog that asks which one.  You generally need to have the browser being imported from shut down for the import to work correctly.

Invoke the menu bar, go to bookmarks, then import bookmarks & settings.

I am planning to use Google Crome instead of Firefox.
