They can be seen with the add on version but it looks as though the 3 files I mentioned are needed. The main add on the language data one and at least one voice. Just installed a second voice and it can be seen under the voice settings section in nvda.

I have a friend in her late 70’s trying to learn NVDA. For some reason when she presses NVDA+down arrow, it reads a single line of text and then stops. How does she correct this?
******If we can't look at ourselves, and ask, why?  then where does the learning start?***

I tried this using the English add-on and the three offered English
voices. They installed, but they do not show in the change synthesizer
dialog under settings/speech. Did I miss a step somewhere?

Surely these are Windows functions and nothing to do with any screen reader.  Copy the text to the clipboard then try using the “Paste Special” options in MS Word.  I believe it’s on the Home sub-menu.

I think I just found this workaround for you. If you select text in browser and then instead of pressing Control+C you press applications button and in the context menu select copy, then at least the hyperlinks seem to be preserved. This works for me when copying from Chrome to MS Word.

Hi. Okay, let me try to explain this better. I'm taking an online class where there's a lot of reading. For some of the discussion board posts, we're supposed to copy and paste the part of the reading that we want to talk about. When my classmates copy text from the reading, they somehow manage to keep the links and other formatting intact. I want to be able to do this. I'm copying from a web page and pasting it into a rich text edit field. When I paste the copied text, all formatting and links seem to have been removed. I hope this helps you understand what I'm trying to do. Thanks.

hi mate, have you managed to resolve the $indi threadsock error those of us that are rewquired to connect to shoutcast2 servers face?

if not, may I suggest that you approach Brian Hartgen, even though he has written jaws scripts, he may be able to give you thoughts on what angle to approach this from.

I've found this to be a continual issue, and it's only because a fellow yet former broadcaster brought this to my attention that I raise it now.

I am certain, that I am not the only one to face this issue, and would like to see a resolution to it if not in the immediate future, then at least alightly further down the track when you have some of the newer features ironed out.

Tonight’s updates bring initial support for AltaCast encoder Winamp plugin (must be recognized by Studio and Streamer), as well as startup message additions and changes for SPL Creator and Studio, respectively (that is, when Creator starts, you’ll hear version info similar to studio). In addition, 19.10 (stable) will now let you assign a custom command for announcing encoders that are being monitored by NVDA for connection changes (SPL Controller layer, E); this is a first step in bringing much improved encoder connection status command to debut in November and currently undergoing testing by testers (development snapshots).

 

IMPORTANT: for people using Studio 5.1x and add-on 18.09.x: 18.09.12-LTS will be the second to last release in the current long-term support series. The last release is scheduled for some time in November. Support for 18.09.x will end on December 31, 2019 unless otherwise specified. Also, 18.09.x is compatible with upcoming NVDA 2019.3.

the first add on you get is under a heading called nvda it says like main add on and will need to be installed.

then jump down to the english part and under that is another one for language data or some thing like that it will also need to be installed.

Just under it is 4 english voices you will need to download also and install the ones you want.

so if you only get one that will be a starter.

After the mentioned files have been installed you should be able to see the voices.

You just need to change your synth to RH voice first then pick your voices second or voice you want to use.

Hopefully it should get you up and running at the worst I can drop box main add on language one and the 2 voices i have here.

I was able to use all four English voices with NVDA using SAPI5. They
are not bad. I do wonder why the NVDA add-ons aren't being seen in the
synthesizer list after installation though.

I am try to understand your requirement.
Do you needed to see the web format in rich format document.
Or while your students copying text from web they should not copy the
links which comes in middle of the actual detailed text.

Kindly write your requirement with scenario
It is easy to help you out.
Because I have seen few NVDA and windows ten selection and paste
options and when require I am also applying it.

Hi everyone. I have a question about copying text from webpages or
anywhere that has links. I'm taking online classes, and for the
discussion board assignments, a lot of people are copying text
containing links as part of their posts, somehow keeping the links and
other formatting intact. I've been wanting to copy text that contains
links this way, but when I copy text, all the formatting seems to be
removed. Is their an accessible way to do this? I'm a pretty advanced
computer and NVDA user, so I'm surprised I don't know this. Thanks.

If she is using the numeric keypad with the down arrow key and the nvda key it will not work.

 

It needs to be the nvda key + down arrow key if using a desk top lay out or the nvda key + A if using the lap top lay out.

I have a friend in her late 70’s trying to learn NVDA. For some reason when she presses NVDA+down arrow, it reads a single line of text and then stops. How does she correct this?
