Question is: If the tables are so correct that NVDA says “table 3rows and 4 columns” or some such, I would assume that the table is correctly constructed. How, then, is it that NVDA cannot read the cells  with control+alt+arrows? I can read through the row using control+right or left arrow but this is only moving from word to word. The column number is then reported and the right edge of the cell is reported as “Carriage return” There is no indication of a tab character.

Any ideas?

Yes, you are correct in all guesses...

It will be needed to download and install the new driver and voice packages.
The old driver and old voice packages, I think, will need to be removed by
the user.

As soon we have a public Beta, will be made an announcement in this list.

I will not gave any more schedule...

I am hoping that an announcement will be made on this list with

need to be downloaded, and new versions of voices that also can be
downloaded, but I guess we will all find out.

Thanks.

Hi,

No, there hasn't been any update. I emailed them to ask when it will be
released, and, as of the time they replied, which is pretty much 3 weeks
ago, they said that it will be out within 2 weeks and...here we are, 3 weeks
now and I checked the downloads page and it's still the same version,
3.0.12.

Note I'm referring to the Tifflotecnia version of Vocalizer.

Hmm, yes well not sure whether a us tuner will work in Europe unless it can decode dvb2 hd signals as gradually the sd channels are being migrated over making older talking boxes no longer able to get the channels moved over.

Hi,

You May want to look into a company called Hauppauge. I have the U.S version of one of their USB TV tuners, and I can get it to work with NVDA. The software they ship with is called WinTV, which has many inaccessible interface elements, but also many keyboard shortcuts, which tend to suffice for the most part for me. The Hauppauge tuner I have can also be used with Windows Media Center if you have that.

What I'd like is a DVB2 tuner where the software that drives it on a pc is accessible with nvda. Most of the ones I've heard about are very graphic in nature, which is not much good.

Ah, I see now. Thanks for the info.

Re: 'private button' on reply forms on list

Supanut,

This button is the replacement for the former "Send to Sender" button.  Most other venues use the term "Private Message" or "Direct Message" to respond "off-list" to the person who posted a given message rather than replying to the group.  After many long discussions in the Beta group for groups.io the use of a Private button, physically distant on the screen from the "Reply to Group" and "Discard" buttons, was chosen as the way to go.

I also use the web interface far more frequently than e-mail (which I generally only use if I'm doing testing).

it takes a lot of continued work and resources to create such a program and have it be properly effective.  Why should blind programmers recreate the wheel.  Many programs, while they may not be fully accessible, are useable.  it's unfortunate that as programs come out with new versions, those that are accessible often become less or inaccessible but while that is occurring, some are becoming more accessible, at times because the developers are working on accessibility for the program.  I would much much rather have a commercial program that I can see reviewed, which is made by a corporation who does it for their business, then have some amateur programmers make their own program.

And to add weight to my argument, one such program, I believe its open source, is clam.  It is poorly reviewed and I wouldn't use it.

There are a number of blind programmers/developers out and about.  Why have they not been able to create a blind friendly anti-virus program?  If it is a money issue?  Why not seek funds from groups who will donate to worthy projects?  Why don't blind developer/programmers offer their expertise and knowledge to the anti-virus developers?
I know that they are not good.  But, I've seen some open source anti-virus projects.  So, it is possible to try and work on an anti-virus project without requiring too much funding!
