Tapin Radio is a good program. Unfortunately, such programs may not have access to as many stations as previously.  I saw something on a list I follow indicating that there is something about rights management and many stations are no longer accessible to such programs.  for some reason, they are restricting their streams to use from their web sites.  I've only seen one comment about this and I'm not saying it is reliable information but such players may not be as useful as previously.

The new colour option doesn't allow for complete dimming of the screen.  If

you are using a desktop, you should be able to simply leave the monitor off

(although my PC looks for the monitor connection and won't start if it

doesn't detect that the monitor is already on (which is quite annoying as

the monitor actually is on, it just takes a second or so to come on).  If

you are using a laptop, you might try pressing WINDOWS+P to "Project" the

screen and choose "Second screen only" to in effect turn off your main

screen.

So what the new colour option does is simply make the Windows settings

display with white text on a black background rather than black text on

white, which is the default for most things.

You can set it in the windows options (WINDOWS+i), choose personalisation,

then colours then "Choose your app mode" and set it to "Dark" rather than

"Light".

Thanks for the instructions - one thing I learnt was that Ctrl + Space

is used to unselected something. Previously, I always used to create a

random folder and then delete it to have focus on nothing, to be able

to get to the New submenu on the Desktop.

To be honest, one of the biggest changes I have found, is that the

start

menu is now three columns wide.  The left column has user account /

file

explorer / settings / power, the middle column has recent apps then all

apps

(first letter navigation jumps straight to first app of that letter in

full

apps list), and the right column has the windows 8 style tiles.  You

can

still only pin to the right column but at least you can press the

context

menu to get recent files for any program there now which is nice.

What annoys me is that to shut down from here involves:

1. Windows

2. tab (takes you to the left column first, if you'd press down arrow

you'd

have started moving down the middle app list column).

3. down arrow four times.

4. enter

5. down arrow

6. enter.

If you want to do it quicker, you can press WINDOWS+X , press U then U

again, or windows+m to go to desktop then alt+f4, or just press the

power

button on your machine (I know that last one is easiest of all, I've

just

never got into the habit of doing it as that used to be strongly

avoided

due

to data loss :)

There's a new dark mode which you can get to without a registry hack

now

which affects mostly just settings but does make it a bit easier for

some.

Hi Group,

In Thunderbird, the preview pain setting is under view/layout and is referred to as 'message pane.'  The hot key is F8, but you should check it first under view/layout and if it is not checked then it is not present and pressing F8 would turn it on causing problems.
