Strange possible bug with the latest veta of Nvda.
Kevin Cussick
Hi all, I us RH voice, I have all the voices for English installed, I only use Scottish Alan, but for some reason I tried to change one of the voices still using RH voice, but it will not let me change from Alan to one of the other voices. I can say it used to work so not sure why it is not changing now. it does the same with the beta and alpha, any chance of some of the devs trying this or if someone is using the same sinth as me maybe they can try this it used to work so not sure when it changed.

StationPlaylist add-on 19.11.2, Windows 10 App Essentials 19.11.4
#addonrelease
Hi all,
In about an hour from now StationPlaylist add-on 19.11.2 and Windows 10 App Essentials 19.11.4 will show up for stable channel subscribers. These releases are localization updates.
NOTE: this or the next releases for these add-ons will be the final version compatible with NVDA versions earlier than 2019.3. Sometime next week, I’ll create a link to old releases on the community add-ons website under entries for these add-ons. The old releases link will be online until sometime in 2020. Cheers, Joseph

Is it still possible to upgrade from the previous license? What's the cost? Thanks, ciao, Ollie

Do not contact codeFactory to reset your sapi5 voice keys. Instead, contact atguys.com ... they are very responsive and will reset your key right away for you.

Woops, Didn't think about that. I guess that's the reason that the

weather plus addon was not working with that version. I do think that as the 2017 version is not having that issue, then it's safe to say that due to some changes they did in the later versions this problem is occuring. The only question is which?

Re: Focus highlight with remote applications?
Quentin Christensen
Hi Robert, We tested this with Zoom and can confirm that when sharing your “full screen” (or NVDA focus highlight window, which is basically the same as full screen), other meeting participants can see the NVDA highlighter overlays. Kind regards Quentin.

Re: Vocalizer expressive voices
Abbie Taylor <abbietaylor945@...>
That's incredible! Well, to my surprise, this morning, I received a prompt response from Code Factory to my inquiry on their contact form. My licenses have been re-set, and I'm back in business.
While re-activating my license by uninstalling and reinstalling the add-on, then entering my activation key, I noticed a Deactivate button. So, that's how you would deactivate a license. However, the only way I see to get to that screen is to uninstall and reinstall the add-on. I pointed this out to the sales representative in my response and asked if this is correct and am waiting for a response. -- Abbie Johnson Taylor, Author http://www.abbiejohnsontaylor.com http://abbiescorner.wordpress.com abbietaylor945@...

WG: [nvda-addons] Audio Themes 6.0-beta2 - Addon - Addon testing
Adriani Botez
Von: nvda-addons@nvda-addons.groups.io <nvda-addons@nvda-addons.groups.io> Im Auftrag von Musharraf
Hello NVDA Community,
Today I'm releasing the second, and hopefully the last, beta of the sixth release of the Audio Themes Add-on for NVDA, Audio Themes v6.0b2.
Changes from v6.0b1 • The add-on docs have been rewritten for clarity and ease of use • When editing or creating audio themes, the active audio theme will be temporarily muted. • Several bug fixes
Users are encouraged to test this release and report any issues as soon as possible. Add-on reviewers are asked to offer their final remarks.
As the saying goes, unless critical issues were found, this release will be identical to the final release of the Audio Themes Add-on.
Get the second beta of the Audio Themes Add-on from this URL:
Sincerely, Musharraf Omer

Re: NVDA sometimes loses control and needs to be restarted
Hi,

As Luke pointed out in a later message, I advise NOT downgrading to anything earlier than a recent version, say 2018.4 should be the earliest version I recommend downgrading to if absolutely necessary. This is more so now that a combination of add-ons with support for old and new NVDA releases are coming out - if you install an add-on optimized for nVDA 2019.3, and then downgrade to 2017.4, add-ons will not work or become unpredictable in what they do. Cheers, Jsoeph

NVDA keeps saying 'activity' when using google file stream
Sile
Hello
Has anyone else come across this - Google File Stream periodically says 'activity', which NVDA will read when it pops up, even if you are reading/writing in another document or application. Does anyone know how to either stop File Stream doing this or stop NVDA reading the notification? I am using Windows 10 and the latest stable release of NVDA. Thanks, --Sile

Unfortunately, any 2017 version is so very out of date, that you will likely find yourself with many other problems as a result.

Downgrading that far on any modern operating system is not a good idea. Luke

Hi,

StationPlaylist add-on settings are located in splstudio.ini. I recommend doing a clean install as a last resort, as settings will remain intact when moving from 2019.2.1 to 2019.3. Cheers, Joseph

I have lots of custom settings in there and it may be necessary to do a clean install of nvda when the next version comes out. I hope there is a file or a couple files I can save before doing this and then I could just copy them back once the new nvda is going and I install the latest add on version. Thanks. Roger

Volume Weirdness
Luke Davis
Hi All
A couple days ago, I created a portable version of the 2019.3 beta. After it started running, I got a sudden drop in volume, maybe by about 30%. Now, across several reboots, and reverting back to the installed copy of 2019.2.1, NVDA (ESpeak) in that account, always drops volume for that entire account. Specifically, the NVDA on the logon screen, NVDA in other accounts on that machine, and system sounds on startup, are all significantly loud (max volume of system is substantial). However, ever since that one NVDA run in that one account, volume for that account seems to have permanently dropped, while all the volume settings remain the same as any other account. System volume is 100%. Volume for everything (including NVDA) in Sound Mixer is 100%. NVDA's own internal volume is 100%. Any idea what I might be missing here? Luke

Yes, Vocalizer, Vocalizer Direct or Vocalizer Automotive… I tis the old version.
Vocalizer Expressive is the recent version.

So the Vocalizer Directive is based on the older Vocalizer, Vocalizer automotive? I'm getting kind of confused now...
