If you want the entire annotation then you will have to turn advance mode off. Yu can alt d to download as often as you need. You can also alt w to add to your wish list.

There are two radio buttons in this advanced dialogue/tab. One is the time just mentioned. The other is "immediately on display". I suspect what's happening is that the time radio button got set somehow. Set it to "immediately on display", and they'll stay unread forever, or rather, until you open the message. This assumes you're not using the preview pane, I don't know what happens with that because I don't use it. When you get to display in options, tab and you'll get to "extensions (link". Tab again and you'll get to a tab, probably "display". Arrow right a couple of times and you'll get to the advanced tab. Now just tab and the first or second thing should be the radio buttons we're talking about.

Here is what is happening with my read/unread status. In the past, I used to be able to arrow up and down and highlight the unread messages and the status would remain unread indefinitely until I actually opened the message and only after I had done this and closed the message would it show as read. Now if I just arrow up and down over unread messages without opening them, after a short time, they will show as read--even though I have not yet opened them. This began after I installed NVDA 2019.3 beta 2. Is there some setting in NVDA that is causing this or perhaps some setting in Thunderbird got changed. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Oh okay. When I got this ten box last February. My tutor who helped me with food safe installed Chrome on here. Its my default browser. I had to use it or firefox to do this course. Here’s the sick thing. I have both the latest versions of screen readers on this ten box. Guess witch one was able to help me with the online course. It was NVDA. I had to write to FS I gave them my sign in info and told them that that needed to be fixed. I told FS that I had to have all sighted help to do this course. I said that no screen reader could access this. NVDA did. On the site where I took the course. Jaws did not read click anywhere to begin. Once I was in. Jaws was able to read the info on the course but it jumped everywhere. NVDA did not.

I'm not familiar with it, but do you remember what might have changed around that time (Did you upgrade NVDA, DocuScanPlus, Windows, etc)? The Docuscan website mentions a new version 3. It might be worth either trying the release candidate of this version, or alternatively going back to the previous version to see if that makes a difference (IF v2 works but v3 doesn't, it would definitely be worth letting Serotek know). They also have versions for if you are using System access or if you are using another screenreader such as NVDA, so you might need to use that second one with NVDA.

Difficulty with PDF Document

A member on this list recommended Docuscanplus as a scanning program some time ago.
Till recently this program worked perfectly. However approx 6 weeks ago the program just said "Unknown" when I opened it to access a document. Are there any users of this program on this list? Has anyone had this experience? If this is not the correct place to ask these questions, is there a list for this product? Andrea

Do you get unknown also if you use mozilla thunder bird? I did at one time have nvda not speak in web pages and mozilla thunder bird and I think around that time nvda saying unknown down on the task bar. It gave the same sort of problems as mentioned below. but I found out that the settings in mozilla had got corrupted etc some how and affected quite a few programs more Mozilla based and some others. I then deleted out the settings under %appdata% then re installed the program or 2 then it fixed it. but if i just uninstalled then setup over it again it did not. But before or was it after that when the following was typed in below it fixed the same sort of problems having those problems. But that was for mozilla settings.
Then after that come the com fixing tool but some times does not seem to work yet when typed in it does? That was for a windows 10 machine at that time. Troubleshooting - NVDA says “unknown” or “pane” in all of your
browsers, Mozilla Thunderbird email client and other places
Let us know what happens. I tlooks as though the tool did not work so you could try typing it in through the command prompt make sure all directions are followed correctly I know that has done the trick on the machine if the tool did not work for some reason.
The settings for mozilla seemed like a similarbug. Gene nz

Due to community feedback, I’m releasing Windows 10 App Essentials 19.11.5 emergency patch for Edge 79 users. This patch is applicable to NVDA 2019.2.x only (NVDA 2019.3 beta 2 and later includes support for Edge 79 stable). As this is an emergency patch, coupled with the fact that latest stable release is 20.01 which supports NVDA 2019.3 or later, this version will not show up via Add-on Updater.
