Hi All,

Although I too find this to be an annoyance, a friend of mine is constantly bothered by it, so he asked me to see if there is a work-around for this.

This is of course, when you do control + C, it says nothing, and you don't really know if your text was copied until you try pasting it elsewhere.

Is there an add-on or a way to make this speak when something gets put into the clipboard?

What happens when you follow a link in an e-mail or type an Internet address in the run dialog and open a web page in that way?  I have always found that help information in NVDA opens using the default browser.  If previous versions of NVDA work properly in this respecgt and this one doesn’t, then there may be a problem with what NVDA does.  If not, and if other things I’ve discussed don’t work properly, then there is a ;problem with Windows not knowing which browser is the default.

What may happen is when you go into the whats new section you might have
to tell it what browser to use and check the box so it does it from then on.

have to tell it what browser to use and check the box so it does it
from then on.

The release candidate (RC) build of NVDA 2019.3 is now available for testing.  We encourage all users to download this RC and provide feedback. This is a release candidate for NVDA 2019.3. Unless any critical bugs are found, this will be identical to the final 2019.3 release.

Hello NVDA users,

 

What a week it was – two NVDA 2019.3 betas in a span of few days. And you know what this means: another update on add-ons and 2019.3 readiness.

 

The biggest news is that NVDA Remote add-on is one step closer to 2019.3 compatibility. A few days ago, NV Access people sent necessary changes to make the add-on compatible with NVDA 2019.3 to add-on writers, which was subsequently accepted. Although work remains to be done, the add-on is getting ready for 2019.3 users.

 

Also, once NVDA 2019.3 release candidate (RC) is released, expect numerous important announcements from add-ons community on status of various add-ons. These will include another compatibility briefing, along with add-on authors announcing release of NVDA 2019.3 compatible versions of their add-ons or a schedule as to when these versions will appear on stable channel (I myself will announce such information within 24 hours after RC is released). Once 2019.3 RC is released, it will become crucial for users of incompatible add-ons to contact authors about the status of their add-ons, especially add-ons listed as incompatible on community add-ons website (under Announcements, Python 3 announcement page).
