Yes:  https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/clipspeak.en.html

I would also suggest that when people want to know whether there's an NVDA add-on that they might want to look at the NVDA Add-Ons Page to find out - FIRST.  That's why it exists.

Is there an add-on or a way to make this speak when something gets put into the clipboard?

Accessibility issue with debotnet

William

Hi,

debotnet is an open source software that can configure to enhance the security and privacy of win 10, and can perform some specific tasks that is not straight forward under win 10.

When I use the app  I came across with accessibility issue, and reported to the authoer on github.

However the author stated that /she has no idea on how to address this issue.

I here post the respective issue link, https://github.com/mirinsoft/debotnet/issues/25#issuecomment-581394577

anyone know how to explain to software author on how to fix these accessibility issue.

Well I got it to work by telling windows what browser to use.  Some times windows doesn't know your default browser.  I want to thank every one on this list for all your help.  Every one was correct.

Joseph Lee's add-ons and NVDA 2019.3: release schedule for next add-on releases in preparation for 2019.3 stable

Hi all,

NVDA 2019.3 RC (release candidate) was declared, one of the final betas that will be identical to upcoming NVDA 2019.3 stable release unless critical issues emerge. Therefore I hereby announce the schedule for add-on releases from me that are NVDA 2019.3 compatible (or requires NVDA 2019.3):

  • Add-on Updater: version 20.02 will hit the air tomorrow. This is a mandatory update for all Add-on Updater users. Feature set is identical to latest version with localization updates and makes provision to support future NVDA releases. Also, 20.02.x will be the last version to support NVDA 2019.2.1 – a March release will require support for 2019.3 and later.
  • StationPlaylist and Windows 10 App Essentials: 20.02 release for these add-ons will be made available within 48 hours after 2019.3 stable is released. These add-ons require NVDA 2019.3 to install and function, and starting from 20.02, Windows 10 App Essentials will also require Windows 10 Version 1903 (May 2019 Update/build 18362).

As for other add-ons such as Resource Monitor, no 20.02 releases for them at the moment; note that all of them require NVDA 2019.3.

Special notice for DictationBridge users: version 1.1, compatible with NVDA 2019.3, will be released by end of this week.

Related to this: if you visit community add-ons website and select any of my add-ons, you’ll see a link to download an older release supporting NVDA 2019.2.1 or earlier. These links will be removed 30 days after NVDA 2019.3 stable version is released.

Cheers,

Joseph

The biggest news is that NVDA Remote add-on is one step closer to 2019.3 compatibility. A few days ago, NV Access people sent necessary changes to make the add-on compatible with NVDA 2019.3 to add-on writers, which was subsequently accepted. Although work remains to be done, the add-on is getting ready for 2019.3 users.

Also, once NVDA 2019.3 release candidate (RC) is released, expect numerous important announcements from add-ons community on status of various add-ons. These will include another compatibility briefing, along with add-on authors announcing release of NVDA 2019.3 compatible versions of their add-ons or a schedule as to when these versions will appear on stable channel (I myself will announce such information within 24 hours after RC is released). Once 2019.3 RC is released, it will become crucial for users of incompatible add-ons to contact authors about the status of their add-ons, especially add-ons listed as incompatible on community add-ons website (under Announcements, Python 3 announcement page).

Thank you.

Hi Quentin

Confirmed when downloading the remote 2.2 add on there is no message now from the Microsoft antivirus so have upated to latest one for 2019.2.1

I disabled the add on updater it gave me a message like there were files missing or it was not compatibleI would have to check.

Thanks for alerting them or what ever you done so it was not pulled up as a trojen.

Re the question about couldn't we make a version of NVDA with Remote built-in and one without.  Theoretically, sure, although essentially that would be similar to now where you can download NVDA (as is) to have the version without Remote, and download the NVDARemote add-on to have the functionality. I'm not saying we're not willing to change it, just that essentially users have the choice currently of whether they want the functionality.

Make sure you zip up the files and not make a new folder and zip that up because it won't work then.

Anyway after you do that, it works.

Its a bit more to do but it seems to fix it.

The only thing that makes sence is its the zipping program used, but who knows.

I have always used 7zip for zip and unzip opperations and use the 7z format for most things these days as do my friends.

Since we are close to stable phase of the nvda 2019.3
would there be a chance that the addons for the Remote will be release at the same time?

On 1/30/2020 11:36 AM, Quentin Christensen wrote:

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the question.  Firstly, for everyone, We've pushed out a couple of pull requests to update NVDARemote for 2019.3, so that will be available for the stable version.

As to including NVDA Remote into NVDA itself, even though many users use it frequently and it is vital for some users, it is not something we are looking at bringing into core at this point, One reason for this is we have a number of users in corporate environments and we would get a lot of pushback from them (or their IT people at least) on updating NVDA to a version with that functionality.

The main thing is that the functionality will continue to be available going forward, even though at this point that will still involve the separate add-on.

Quentin.

As you are all quick off the mark, this isn't completely new news, but confirming that yes, NVDA 2019.3 beta 3 is now available from: https://www.nvaccess.org/post/nvda-2019-3beta3-now-available-for-testing/

This is slight progression from the previous beta so you shouldn't notice too many big changes - of course as always happens, as we move closer to the final release, we don't put as many big new features in, but rather try to ensure that everything is stable and fix bugs people have reported in previous betas.

If you do encounter any issues, please do report them: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues  If you could also clarify whether they are new issues or existing issues (which hadn't previously been reported) that would be really helpful - both are important to know about, but being able to pinpoint when something started being an issue helps narrow down where to look for a fix.

All things going well, this will be the last beta before the release candidate, which will be just before the final stable release.

Kind regards

Quentin.
