But how will those who want to know about them know where to look? Are you going to have a link on the add-ons page directing people to a page where older versions of add-ons compatible with older versions of NVDA can be found? The links on that page can lead to wherever the add-ons actually are but there should be an obvious way for older users to know where to find such add-ons on the add-ons home page, such as a link to where they are listed.

Tiflotecnia's Vocalizer wanting to verify the license with new version?

I’ve several Spanish-speaking friends with legal Tiflotecnia Vocalizer voices, who when they want to upgrade their’s, it with NVDA2019.3 RC, a dialogue about verifying license pops up, and I worry that it’ll happen here at my end when the time comes to upgrade! What is recommended if this arises?

Dear Cecelia & List:

Yes, use control plus I to toggle Italics on or off, Control plus B toggles Bold on/off. Control plus U toggles underline on/off. Other accelerator keys are: Control plus R for right justify. Control plus L for left justify. Control plus E for Center. Control plus J for full justification. I think NVDA can be configured to read text with these attributes in a different voice. Word also has strike-out and red line attributes. When the author approves your changes, there is a generate function to delete the strike-outs, insert the red-lined text etc. Brian K. Do you know how to use the NVDA menus and
dialogs? You can learn a lot about the program, including possibly useful
features you wouldn't know about otherwise. I'll tell you the shortcut
method to get to the specific dialog you want but do you know how to look around
in general?
If you look around, use cancel, not ok, when you
are finished to make sure you didn't change something without intending
to.
Use the command control NVDA d to open document
formatting. You will find, by tabbing around, a lot of settings for what
can be displayed, or turned off.

NVDA not so laggy on File Explorer
David Griffith
Just to say that my initial feedback on installing NVDA 19.3 RC2 is that there has been a dramatic improvement in the lag that plagued previous installations of NVDA when trying to open large file directories in Windows file Explorer (Windows 10 19.09 ). This problem appears to have pretty much disappeared so far. I used to have to use the work around of loading Narrator to review file names in a windows explorer window until NVDA would catch up and start talking again. This was not a problem with other screenreaders. It appears now that is also not a problem with NVDA – I don’t know if this was an anticipated improvement but I thought I would report it anyway.

Re: NVDA 2019.3 RC 2 is released
Cearbhall O'Meadhra
Quentin,
I downloaded and installed the RC and I am very pleased so far. The licence agreement at the start and the automatic speech was very impressive. I actually listened to the whole agreement! I had not seen the speech control and selection before so this looks new to me. It gives so many choices that it should be possible for a comfortable voice to be found. I prefer Eloquence and had been running the add-on up to now. I have achieved almost the same voice that I am used to so I'll see how that settles down for my ear! Congratulations to the whole team and thanks for all the hard work. All the best, Cearbhall m +353 (0)833323487 Ph: _353 (0)1-2864623 e: cearbhall.omeadhra@blbc.ie

Hi Raha, I'm not familiar with this add-on, is it listed on https://addons.nvda-project.org/index.en.html ? NVDA 2019.3 has required most addons to update to Python 3 in order to remain compatible. You may need to download a new version of the add-on in order to use it with NVDA 2019.3 If there isn't a new version, I would encourage you to write to the add-on author to encourage them to update their add-on. The add-ons we know the status of are listed on https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/nvdapy3.en.html Kind regards Quentin.

Cuong, Can I please double check - did you check with 2019.3 RC1 or RC2? We put out RC1 last night, then noticed an issue with translations and that's why RC2 came out so quickly - but there were a few hours in between. If you used RC1, please try again with RC2 and let me know (or let me know that you were using RC2). Kind regards Quentin.

Add-on Updater 20.02 released
#addonrelease
Hi all,
Add-on Updater 20.02 is now available. This is identical to version 20.01.1 with updated localizations applied.
Important: after installing this version and restarting NVDA, NVDA will present a compatibility reminder dialog about various add-ons. Please read the dialog (or listen to the content) carefully and take appropriate action.
Cheers, Joseph
