Re Math,

Do you have MathPlayer installed?  And did you have it installed when using NVDA 2019.2.1 (when reading math was working)?

Quentin.

Hi,
Where can I get the installer for NVDA 2019.2.1? Given that I've experienced issues relating to Vocalizer and also issues with reading of MathType equations, I'm planning to downgrade back to the 2019.2.1 version of NVDA. Though the Vocalizer issue is not too serious, the inability to have NVDA read out MathType equations is a very serious issue for me given that I need this funcctionality for my introduction to logic class right now.

Try turning off forms mode, NVDA key space, then turning it on again, the same command, NVDA space.

But before trying that, try the command NVDA key f5.  That command refreshes what is displayed.  It sounds as though in chrome, the browse mode buffer isn't being refreshed to show when you take an action such as check a check box.

Good Afternoon:  Pico is an application that was written in unix.  It's been years since I looked at this application.  If you can find someone that is knowledgeable in Unix, they may be able to help.  This is something you might wish to go to one of the blind programming list.  It has been sometime ago, but the addresses of Blind Programmers and Programmers-l were given.

I brought up the issue below last June but aside from some related discussion never got anywhere about using this software on Windows with NVDA.  I really need some assistance with this issue to make a full transition to NVDA.

Software is alpine for Windows and Pico, also for Windows.  It is not exactly that the software doesn't work at all, but it only partly works.  For example, in editing a message, I can usually get speech in the text, but there is no braille.  Sometimes while editing, when I move down line by line I get no text, but I do get text moving up line by line after moving down.  In the menu of messages, I can't see the messages at all.

Thanks.

Hi:

I use two fairly old pieces of software:  the Alpine email client; the Pico text
editor.  Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to get this software to work
with NVDA.  It only shows a blank screen for me.

Pico is particularly portable and I'm betting that the two programs have the
same screen issues since they were written by the same source.  I haven't
attached it here but sending it via email should be very simple.

Is there a way I can try to diagnose this?  Or, might somebody be willing to
look at this who knows more about thwat they are doing?

Many thanks.

Chris

NVDA Firefox and Textarea fields.

As somebody who primary uses JAWS, I was just noticing that on:

https://www.desmos.com/scientific

When I am in Chrome and hit “F” or “e” to move to the next equation, NVDA does this successfully with the Chrome browser, but not Firefox.

Is this a bug with NVDA or with Firefox?

Thanks,

Hello!
Is hard read subtitles in real time with NVDA because the subtitles are text on an image, and the OCR not can refresh automatically.
But the program Pot Player have a solution. Pot Player is a player for Windows of audio and video. This player support many formats, and also can an very good option for the screen readers: In the preferences, category accessibility, the program have an option that display the subtitles how Window Titles.
The web site of the program is:
https://daumpotplayer.com/

Note: By default, the contextual menu not is accessible, but this problem have a solution. Open the preferences dialog with f5, and in the category themes, with tab search the combo box contextual menu and select system default.
When the option in the category accessibility for the subtitles is enabled, NVDA can read subtitles from a separate file (for example *.rts or *.txt) with the option open a subtitle of this player.
