Try turning off forms mode, NVDA key space, then
turning it on again, the same command, NVDA space.
But before trying that, try the command NVDA key
f5. That command refreshes what is displayed. It sounds as though in
chrome, the browse mode buffer isn't being refreshed to show when you take an
action such as check a check box.

Subject: [nvda] NVDA 2019.3.1 and Chrome 80 latest update to the Chrome browser. If I'm filling out a long form that has several pages, a survey for instance, I try to check a box or a radio button, and NVDA will not say "checked". It acts like nothing happened. And if I press the "next" button, it seems like nothing happens. If I go to the NVDA menu or restart NVDA, and go back to the browser window, the refreshed page will display. I've had to restart NVDA countless times just for one survey. What could be causing this, and is anyone else having this issue with Chrome? It seems to work fine on Firefox. Google Chrome Version: 80.0.3987.100 NVDA version: 2019.3.1 Thanks.

Re: Alpine and Pico (fwd)

Good Afternoon: Pico is an application that was written in unix. It's been years since I looked at this application. If you can find someone that is knowledgeable in Unix, they may be able to help. This is something you might wish to go to one of the blind programming list. It has been sometime ago, but the addresses of Blind Programmers and Programmers-l were given.

As somebody who primary uses JAWS, I was just noticing that on: https://www.desmos.com/scientific When I am in Chrome and hit “F” or “e” to move to the next equation, NVDA does this successfully with the Chrome browser, but not Firefox. Is this a bug with NVDA or with Firefox? Thanks, Jonathan

I would like to read the subtitles on a braille display rather than listen to them. Have you had success with this?

Re: how to disable announcing of battery charging/not charging
Tyler Spivey
Pop into the python console and paste this in, pressing enter after:
import winKernel;winKernel.GetSystemPowerStatus = lambda x: None
The worst that will happen is that NVDA will break, requiring a restart. No big deal.
