want dates or abbreviations to be processed.  For example, the latest
version of NVDA, 2019.03.01 is read as "March 1, 2019" instead of
"2019 dot 03 dot 01".  Additionally, I am hearing hello.pl as "hello
dot place" instead of "hello dot p l."  Obviously, I know I can use
the dictionary to teach NVDA to read "pl" as "p l" but there seems to
be dozens of these abbreviations.  I look at software versions all day
so the first example is driving me crazy.

Is there a way within NVDA to say ignore date processing and
abbreviation processing?  I definitely have been unsuccessful finding
how this would be done with the synthesizer software.  If there is a
synthesizer that has this level of control that won't hit my wallet
too hard and actually has a real sounding voice, I'd be interested in
going that route if it's my only option.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Your control key might be stuck virtually. I've ben getting this since an updating January and it has not be fixed with every update LTHEREAFTER, , in fact it is getting worse. This I don't think is an nvda issue hence I would report this to Microsoft. I already sent feedback with windows f.

Take care

Make sure your copy under general settings is set to log in debug and save your settings.

You can grab the old log  pressing the windows key + letter R then by typing %temp% then press the enter key.

Then locate the nvda old log.

Then it can be added to a ticket or a ticket made etc.

If you do make a ticket make sure you put down all the details to recreate the problem etc version of nvda operating system and so on.

If you want to try and catch it before a reboot press the nvda key + f1 key then save the log.

William, are you using the latest updates in windows ten?  I don’t know if this is true. I don’t think its accessible for ten. If it is. You may have to tweek it for you to make it work. I heard it works quite well with windows 7.  I think if you down grade Pot player  it will probably work for you.

Also, Brice, Make sure you've got your keyboard set to the proper
layout. I've noticed that sometimes if you've got a desktop layout but
you want your capslock key to be used as an NVDA key, you've gotta go
in & check it, as it's unchecked by default. But do try running
w/addons disabled--& always restart your system after an update just
to ensure everything got truly installed.

You don't say what version of Windows you're running, & that may or
may not be helpful, but it is really information that should be
included in any support request.
