When creating a input gesture, is there a way to know you're not creating a Windows 10 keyboard shortcut? Luke #70675 I am Using NVDA 19.3.1 so I have made a input gesture for the screen curtain and it works great. I have only made a couple input gestures and when I do I press NVDA + 1 to turn input help on and I see if the keyboard combination I want to use for the input gesture I am about to make is in use or not. Is there anyway of knowing the keyboard combination I make is a Windows 10 keyboard shortcut? And lets say I make a NVDA input gesture and I make it control S which of course is the keyboard shortcut for save as in windows 10. Will NVDA override it?

Re: NVDA 2019.3.1 and External Soundcard and Firefox Pele West #70671 Hi Gene apologies, in my previous message I had a brainstorm and said that NVDA kept saying "Confirm", I meant "Unknown". It seems to say "Unknown" on all the pages I have loaded. I have also removed all the Mozilla and NVDA files after uninstalling the programs, and then I have reinstalled them with no luck. And now I also have this problem that NVDA will not see the external sound card. NVDA works perfectly with Chrome. I am not sure I understand your question about the Taskbar. Firefox shows up on there. Pele

Is it happening any of the other browsers? Down on the task bar where the running applications are does it say the names of the items? Part of the reason I am asking is there was one time but it happened with fire fox and mozilla thunder bird it would not speak the ontents etc on those programs. it happened some how I think it was in mozilla fire fox it some how got corrupted and some how affected thunder bird. I ended up going into the windows run dialogue which is windows key + R then type in %appdata% then press the enter key i then deleted out the mozilla folder then closed it Then I re installed mozilla fire fox and I am pretty sure the problem was fixed. I am sure it fixed thunder bird in the process as well or did i do that one as well but only might of done it because it was still saying unknown etc. But if you are not having those problems it may not be that. The com registration tool usually fixes some problems like that. I guess it depends on what is happening. speech dictionary entries Don H #70667 The Vocalizer voices are set to announce a m after a number as meters. 51m is spoken as 51 meters. For me when I come across such a entry the m following a number stands for minutes not meters. Is there a way to change this setting in the form of a dictionary entry?

Strange issue with Windows 10's OCR Kara Goldfinch #70665 Hi everyone. I use a Komplete audio 6 audio interface, which has an inaccessible control panel that I can sort of use via OCR. However, for some inexplicable reason, I get better results when using the legacy OCR add-on than I do with Windows 10's built-in engine. I have the add-on installed in a portable copy of 2019.,2.1, but since every other add-on I use is now supported under 2019.3.1, It seems pointless keeping this around if I can get it sorted. So I was wondering if any of you know why this might be. I have checked my screen resolution and scaling; both are set to their recommended values. The app also can't be maximised. Windows 10's OCR engine works everywhere else. It's literally just this one thing I need to use the legacy add-on for. I'm using Windows 10 home Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.657). NVDA 2019.3.1 and External Soundcard and Firefox Pele West #70663 Hi Everyone I have installed NVDA on a Windows 7 machine. The machine has 2 soundcards. I want to direct NVDA to the external soundcard, but it cannot see it. How do I persuade it to recognize it? Window-Eyes sees it as Speakers USB Audio. Also, I have installed and uninstalled the latest version of Firefox a number of times but NVDA still will not work with it. It will work with Chrome. Can anyone advise me on these points?
