Re: NV Speech Player and Add On Updater

I haven't tried it, but I was skeptical.
After all, it said that a lot of the information it uses is based on
e-speak.

Re: NVDA automatically switches between two synthesizers
Jacob Kruger
Probably not relevant, but, maybe try going into NVDA voice settings - NvDA key + V - and, tab over to automatic language switching checkbox and try turning it off? After that, there's also anotehr checkbox for automatic dialect switching, and, while neither of these should specifically switch synthesizers - don't think so anyway - maybe try turning them off to see if that makes a difference?

Hello guys, Hi Do you have any Configuration Profiles defined for the affected apps?
Cheers Chris

You probably have a config profile. If you don't want one, delete it. If you do, then go read the docs to understand how they work, and how absolutely broken the design is.

Elements List not working correctly in Slack
Martin O'Sullivan
Hi
When I bring up the Elements List using Insert and F7, in Slack. the links section is empty. I am using the Slack app, and not the website. This was working fine until this morning.
Does anyone else here use slack? Do you have the same issue?

NVDA automatically switches between two synthesizers
Akshaya Choudhary
Hello guys,
I'm facing a weird issue with NVDA. It automatically switches between two synthesizers. For example, if I'm using Windows One Core, then NVDA will switch to E speak by itself as soon as I interact with any of the Windows's application s or any word/text file. To fix this I have to reselect the synthesizer of my choice and restart NVDA. The issue remains when I restart thee computer. I'm using the latest version of Windows 10 and NVDA 19.2.1. If anyone could help, it would be great. -- Regards, Sociohack

For Microsoft teams, give feedback through their accessibility forums, see below. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/feedback Anyone else can chime in with other company contact emails and pages.

addon? On my end, at least. If you look on Github, there's a pull request that fixes it. Just tested it myself, can confirm that it works.

For users of online conferencing systems: do report accessibility problems, add-on authors standing by to help
Hello all,
I hope you are taking advice from public health officials and reputable sources as we navigate this difficult moment in history. As always, please do wash your hands and take other precautions. And please, please, please, unless you have to, do NOT buy emergency supplies all at once.
Onto the matter at hand: I know that many workplaces and schools have or are planning to deploy online conferencing systems such as Zoom. Because there may be accessibility issues with some of these systems when using with NVDA, I have requested a community-wide help from NVDA add-ons regarding accessibility concerns. If you do encounter accessibility problems, do let developers know, and if you want folks to write you a quick add-on or two, please don’t hesitate to let the NVDA community know. The last thing the community needs to hear is someone struggling even more due to inaccessible online conferencing systems. Thanks. Cheers, Joseph P.S. I have resumed add-on development work, but plan to provide assistance for conferencing system users if requested.

2019.3.1, random stops during say all.
ryan chou
Hi all,
Ever since I've updated to 2019.3.1, I've noticed something where NVDA randomly stops reading during a say all. Nothing breaks, but there's no visible reason for it to stop reading. This is especially common in Kindle books, but not unheard of on other pages as well. When it happens I just have to scroll down manually to the next line, however if I'm trying to just read through something long, it does get mildly irritating if it happens a lot. Does anyone else have this issue/know how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

NVDA remote
Robert Doc Wright godfearer
I was working with a gentleman today. After
updating his NVDA and remote we ran into a problem. When he hit enter on the
connect button it kicked him right out of the NVDA menu.
