One Core Synth

Chris Mullins

Hi

Is there any way to stop the One Core synthesizer from pre-empting some words.  Below is a list of 6 words:

unchartered

unchecking

unchecky

unchecked

uncharacteristic

unchanging

On my system, the first 3 words speak the word unchanged followed by the remainder of the actual word, even though 2 of the words do not have a as the 5th letter.  The second 3 are spoken correctly.

I’ve checked my NVDA related punctuation dictionaries and it doesn’t appear to b coming from there, so are there any OneCore specific dictionary files which can be adjusted to stop this behaviour?

Cheers

Chris

Re: Facing problem with Excel 2013

Hello Ramesh,

When you hear unknown, try hitting the left alt key twice in rapid succession. This usually makes NVDA speak the contents of the cell.

You mention pressing the carriage return after editing the cell. Pressing Enter will close the cell, stop editing and drop the cursor down to the next row in the same column.

Try pressing home and see if this moves to the beginning of the edited cell and speaks the first word. If that works, then press right and left arrow keys to move forward and back along the contents of the cell character by character.

Does this help?

All the best,

Cearbhall

Value of headers not readable in Thunderbird

john doe

Hi NVDAs,

With the latest 'next' release of NVDA and the latest release of
Thunderbird, it is not possible anymore to read the value of the header
fields of an e-mail.
For example, when using the tab key to go through the available headers,
NVDA does not speak anything for the value of the date header.

It looks like a regression because it has stopped working a while back
but can not recall when! :)

The same thing is also present with the stable release.

Am I missing something?

Any input is appriciated.

Notepad++ and spellcheck

William

Hello,

I just installed the dspell plugin of Notepad++.

I found that NVDA did not speak any spelling error.

also, select a spelling error and press context menu did not show word suggestion.

Do anyone found a way to use it accessibly? Or any spell checking tool in Notepad++ can be accessed with nvda?

Thanks.

Yes, I would love it as well  if someone could make a recording of those sessions maybe after they are done if they have a link dropbox please maybe put it on the list so we can download it it could be in a zip format that would be wonderful. The time starts at 12-30 PT time, the correcttime if you are in the eastern time zone 3-30 PM. I am originally from Pennsylvania and have been living in San Diego California for 18 years. Stay safe everyone we will get through this together.

Re: corona software update

Yes and no.

What it means is that windows universal and desktop skype will become 1 thing.

The universal app is the one getting the chop here.

So everyone will be using what we currently call the desktop app.

It will be managed from the store to.

Skype uwp is being replaced by electron according to winaero.com.

There will be a few things missing but the latest preview for insiders
is electron and it will eventually all be from the store.

On one hand we will lose the desktop version but on the other hand, we
get a better universal version.

Amd and nvidia have drivers that are updated for this month.

Its worth noting that if you are offered this that on edge it may crash
with netflicks, the changelog said microsoft edge but I am unsure if
thats chromium or the old edge.

Dropbox has an update.

Some windows versions have an update.

And according to windows update twitter support for windows 1709 on
enterprise and business systems is being pushed back to october this year.

More general news on the chat.

I technically could put all of this on chat but thought that I should
split the technical and non technical parts of this

Also, does anyone have any information on where/if recorded lessons are posted? I was unable to find recordings from this series on the ATI website, and the link to 'free training topics' is broken on my browser.

No apology necessary, at least to me.   Although that would have been nice, you gave more than enough information for anyone interested to find what they needed in mere seconds if they made the effort.

While it's wonderful to have direct links, and most of us do tend to provide them most of the time, when that isn't the case and very specific information has been offered a web search on the specifics generally zeroes you in on what you're looking for in no time.  This message was much appreciated, and I have forwarded this info on to the Windows 10 for Screen Reader Users Group, as we're getting lots of new members there now that Windows 7 is officially out of support.

Re: How to copy Instant Translate spoken output to clipboard_

Yes Rui, I have that too. I-ll have to revert to that, although translating immediately within NVDA would have been much easier...

the advantage of Qtranslate, on top of it all, is the use of eight different services, thus providing a variety of similar, but not identical, renderings. That-s a great help sometimes, but on other occasions it becomes pretty confusing. Especially in a situation like this where, being programme strings, you have no context to help you find our bearings.
