Podcast - Speak On as a Podcast Reader
David Griffith
I have never distributed my Speak On material through this list before but given the recent interest here in using Speak On as an option as an accessible eBook Reader and Podcast Reader I thought that I should do so just this once. There is a Speak On Mailing list where both I and Isaac the program developer reside with others which may, in future, be more appropriate for more detailed discussion of Speak On. Details below.
I finished the Podcast on using Speak On as a Podcast reader yesterday and the link to this is also provided below. I think it is OK though I have not listened all the way through.
The Podcasts are being distributed by talking Computers on a monthly basis and will be eventually hosted also on the Speak On Web Site. However, especially at the moment I have no problem with any others linking through their websites etc so that as many as possible enjoy Speak On now in what are difficult times.
First is a link to the most recent Podcast and then the full list.

One possibility: are you talking about User Account Control? If yes, that will explain why, and to turn that off, one must disable "Use NVDA on the Windows logon screen (requires administrator privileges)" Checkbox found in NVDA settings/general panel. Cheers, Joseph

The only part of Zoom which isn't fully accessible is the text chat feature, butjust about everything else is able to be accessed.
A rough estimate is that zoom is about 90% accessible right now.

I have this nvda issue with 3 computers ight now
it's insane. And no one else has had it happen/so frustrating. Does anyone else
actually turn nvda off while doing other things? I wouldn't but my husband uses
it and it just turns itself on if anything else is opened or shut. I feel like
I'm missing some sort of new setting because really it's 3 computers. As no one
seems to know is there anywhere else I can write and ask?

Re: How accessible is Zoom with NVDA?
And to make this as easy as possible, for those who want a great audio book about how to use the most commonly used features of Zoom both as an attendee and as a meeting organizer, please see Jonathan Mosen's webpage for same: Free audiobook, “Meet Me Accessibly – A Guide to Zoom Cloud Meetings from a Blindness Perspective”
Review his overview about the book contents there and download a free copy. There's nothing like going to the source, and no point in rehashing anything when the source material is available with a simple link activation. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

Meet Me Accessibly – A Guide to Zoom Cloud Meetings
ely.r@...
Johnathon Mosen has made his book on using Zoom free. It is a very comprehensive overview of using the service. It is a recording so one hears Johnathan using JAWS as he navigates the interface. I wish there had also been a text file so that it would be possible to add notes as you read, but a super place to get started.
I purchased Zoom Professional and will be using the introduction as I start to use it.
