I gathered together some links that I sent on to another person plus there was a link or 2 off this list on the same question. The links are below.

Gene,
I downloaded MP3 direct cut and tried to install it on my system. I downloaded the version for Win 10. It won't install, it says it doesn't have access to the folder where it wants to install it. I will have to figure out another place to install it where it will still work. Or, I may try to figure out how to authorize it.
It sounds good so thanks for suggesting it in an earlier posting.

Brian, if you are really patient with me I would love to work with you on this. I learn step by step and like to write down the steps as I go so I can look it up the next time that process is needed. I went to the link that you sent to me but could not find the right place to sign up to report the bugs with this beta version of Thunderbird. I am on the Eastern time zone and am free for the next hour and a half or otherwise it will have to wait until tomorrow. My evening is packed here until after 10:30 tonight.
Write me at blindangel61@... and I can give you my phone number there if you are able to help.
I am also wondering if there is a way to have the speech say less
so maybe the extra information will stop speaking. I do not want to go back gto the other version of Thunderbird if I have to reset everything again.
Thanks again.

This is not correct. CDex has an analogue recording function so is perfectly feasible as a recording tool. Check out the second menu option under Tools – analogue recording where you can set input devices including choice of microphone and you can also specify sampling rates etc.

It really isn’t a good idea for people, and I see it when evber such a question is asked, to recommend Goldwave without first knowing what a person wants to do. Goldwave is not free. It isn’t expensive unless you don’t have much money and you are on a tight budget, but it does cost something like forty or fifty U.S. dollars.
If you just want to record and edit mp3 files, MP3 Direct Cut is a much better choice. If you want to record and work with other formats, other programs would be used, MP3 Direct Cut only works with MP3 files but since many people just want to record and edit MP3 files, the way the person wants to use the program needs to be found out before making a recommendation.

Re: NVDA has Acquired a new, and somewhat annoying Feature
Bugzilla is not a program, but a website, much the same in concept as the issue reporting part of GitHub.
On either of those you need to have an account, and you then need to get to the correct project (e.g., Thunderbird or NVDA, respectively) to file a bug report. I do not have the actual steps memorized, and if someone has a first bug they want to report I would be happy to set up a time were I could remote in to your computer, as well as have a phone call going, where I can walk you through it and document the steps taken. They vary depending on what system is used to report the bug. I have wanted to continue my tutorial series on GitHub and reporting issues for NVDA, but I haven't had an issue to report in recent months, and I'm certainly not going to create a "fake issue" to try to document the steps to create an issue. Same for Firefox or Thunderbird through Bugzilla. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

It's still in the process of actively being invented "beyond the basics" that have been around almost since the beginning. There will be things that will not be accessible for a variety of reasons, some of which can be screen reader related and others that originate in what's being exposed to the screen reader itself. And I expect it will continue to be this way for years, as the brilliant (and not so brilliant) young things keep coming up with new ideas in regard to how to present things on webpages. It's going to be a game of catch-up on steroids. But when an issue is found, if the page in question does not require one to be logged in, it makes it so much easier when the page address, as well as identification of the troublesome element, is offered. I thank you again for having been so explicit in doing both. It made actually helping you possible. It's also sometimes possible, like this time, to make sense of what's going on if the page source code is provided in those instances where the page is one after a point where you've logged in. Page source code does not contain any of the information you've entered on a form, for instance, but is the HTML code used to present that page to you, the end user. If that simmarket.com "Your Account" control had been behind a login, you could still use your web browser's Show Source command to have the HTML source code for the page opened up in a different tab. If that's then copied and pasted into an MS-Word document, and you can identify the control label where you're getting stuck, if that can be found and the object type deciphered there might be a workaround. By the way, in Chromium-based browsers the Show source keyboard shortcut for the web page you're viewing is CTRL+U, and you cannot have focus in a text box or other control when you issue that command. CTRL+U also works in Firefox. A web search on "show page source" with the name of the browser you're using, if it's not one already mentioned, should turn up the keyboard shortcut for that given browser. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

You can actually enable Global Keyboard Shortcut by go to your Zoom Settings menu. To do that, press Tab Key until you heard settings. When you get to the settings menu, Press enter on it. After you pressed Enter, Press Down Arrow until you find Keyboard Shortcut. Press Space bar to get in to Keyboard Shortcut. then press Tab until you heard the following from your Screen Reader: "Learn more Enable Global Shortcut Button" Then press Down Arrow to find the keyboard shortcut that you want to enable. The keyboard shortcut are grouped in to a table, therefore you can Press CTRL+Ault plus the arrow keys to navigate across the list of shortcut. I hope the following information can be beneficial. Best regards Michael Munn

Alt + control + shift doesn’t work. Well actually, I can’t tell, because NVDA is not telling me whether the controls have appeared or not. I’m using tab to navigate but I’m still getting nothing.

I've not experienced Zoom freezing, though I should note that I only use screen readers for testing, and not for routine use. That said, I've spent a good bit of time using Zoom with NVDA and JAWS over the past week or so, and I've taken to exclusively using the Zoom keyboard commands, because they're so much easier and faster than using a mouse and hunting for the controls.
As far as the issue of it being difficult to tell which Zoom window is the one with your session, whenever I use Control+Alt+Shift, that always brings me back to the Zoom window with the session, and the Zoom controls. You might consider using Alt+Tab to switch between Zoom and other applications, and then use Control+Alt+Shift whenever you want to switch back to Zoom. It should guarantee both a single keyboard command, and getting to the correct Zoom window.
