Re: Trying to get a hold of AudioTheme iPhone package?
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
Maybe if he could record the IOS sound scheme individual file by individual file and then move them somehow to the PC and rename them to conform to NVDA wave file names in the NVDA\Waves folder and paste the converted and renamed files into that folder, he could achieve what he wants. Personally, I like the original NVDA sound scheme better than anything I have herd so far. I did not like the new sound scheme that was proposed and then dropped for 2018 releases. I got a copy of those sound files, copied them into the folder with the default wave files and had it that way for about a day. I over wrote them with the original sound files a day later because I simply didn't like the change. On 4/22/2020 3:48 PM, Brian Vogel

Bleh, I need to remember the actual name. Hey, at least I was close, right? I hope that helps the person as I'm not sure if they wanted the desktop or laptop keys. Sorry about typing, my right hand is suffering a lot of joint pain right now, so looks like i need to take a brake. Hopefully this will not effect my job. Bleh. You missed 'em. And you can bring up the list of same when NVDA is running with NVDA+N,H,Q, which opens up the Commands Quick Reference.
Open that and search for the section entitled, Synth settings ring

Use the voice ring, nvda control shift left right and up down arrows, I think. I'm in laptop mode but consult the quick start guide to know the keyboard commands for the voice ring. I don't know if this is what it is called in the manual but hope that helps a bit. Blessings and happy Wednesday Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . Hi, and thanks for replying. In 2 other screen readers I have there are hot keys for raising and lowering the speed of speech, without going into menus, etc.
How about NVDA? If so, I just plain missed them. -- Curtis Delzer HS K 6 V F O Rialto, CA curtis@calweb.com

Hi all, StationPlaylist add-on 20.05 (stable channel) is on its way – it’ll show up via community add-ons website and Add-on Updater by tomorrow at the latest. This release introduces support for Remote VT (voice track), removes user interface associated with time-based broadcast profiles (the feature itself will be gone in June), as well as various internal bug fixes.

It is entirely possible that someone has created one, but as you've requested, they'd have to share it here. And it's fine to do so if we're talking about a audio theme of any sort that can be used with the Audio Themes Add-On. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Re: Trying to get a hold of AudioTheme iPhone package?
Gerardo,
That would be because this is an NVDA add-on, and, thus, only for the PC platform. The developer's e-mail address is listed on the very webpage you make reference to, and contacting him would be the appropriate next step. I very much doubt that there is a version of this for iPhone, but only he can answer that. As a note for the future, general questions relating to iPhone apps are off topic for the group, though I can see why you asked this one specifically, as someone appears to have stated that there is an iPhone equivalent of the NVDA Add-On. There is no evidence of that at the add-on developer's GitHub page. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Trying to get a hold of AudioTheme iPhone package?
Gerardo Corripio
I was made aware on my Spanish NVDA Whatsapp group of the availability of the “AudioThemes” AddOn whose info follows Audio Themes (audiothemes) Versión: 6.0 Autor: Musharraf Omer<ibnomer2011@...> Descripción: This add-on creates a virtual audio display that plays sounds when focusing or navigating objects, the audio will be played in a location that corresponds to the object's location in the visual display. The add-on also enables you to add, remove, edit, create, and distribute audio theme packages. Dirección: https://mush42.github.io/audio-themes/ And I went into the site provided, but I can’t find how I could get a hold of ioS sounds! If anyone of you guys happen to have to share, more and one would surely appreciate! Thanks for any download info.

Re: Unable to get sound of typed alphabets
I think this is an NVDA setting. In Preferences / Keyboard options there is a checkbox for typed characters and another for typed words.
If you make sure the check box for typed characters is checked, then you will hear each character as it is typed. If you check both character and word checkboxes, you'd hear each character as you press it, followed by the word after pressing a space or punctuation symbol. Hope that helps, Giles

Thunderbird Verbosity Issue: Please move to Chat Subgroup
Hello All,
Although the recent issues with Thunderbird and excessive verbosity are displaying themselves with NVDA, it's been pretty clearly determined that this is not an NVDA problem, and will not be fixed by NVDA. And while I realize the ongoing progress about this is of interest to many, including myself, it certainly is not of interest to all, nor is it about NVDA, but Thunderbird. Please move all further conversation regarding this particular issue to the Chat Subgroup. When a fix is released, if someone has received it and knows the version, please send that information to nvda+owner@nvda.groups.io and an announcement regarding the fix having gone out will be made. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Subject: Re: [nvda] Is there a way to change the volume of NVDA's
sounds? Hi Jim It’s a series of keystrokes enabling you to alter aspects of the current synthesizer settings on the fly. You hold down NVDA+Control, then left/right arrows give you access to Volume, voice, rate, rate boost and pitch then loops back to volume, hence the “ring” analogy. Once you have selected one of the above controls, still holding down the NVDA+Control keys, use up/down arrows to adjusct the parameter for that control. Cheers Chris

I don’t know why, but using the ring only lowers speech and has no effect on NVDA sounds. I expected the ring and the dialog setting to do the same thing, but the settings aren’t identical in what they do.
