Browse mode is not like the PC cursor. Browse Mode is equivalent to the Virtual PC Cursor in JAWS and has nothing to do with the PC cursor.

Re: NVDA Settings Questions
Hi, For table row/column, you need to turn off “Cell coordinates" Checkbox from NVDA’s document formatting list (NVDA menu/Preferences/Settings/document formatting/tables group; CAUTION: do not turn off cell coordinates while using Excel, as it will prevent NVDA from announcing which cell you are working on). As for auto-complete in Outlook, it is already working, although it doesn’t work properly if one is using an older build of Office 365 or earlier version of Office. Cheers, Joseph

Not necessarily, as the goal of the user guide is to provide a high-level overview and basic instructions for using NVDA. A better place for this kind of discussion would be developer guide. At the moment I'm reluctant to suggest changes to developer guide, as developers are focusing on backlog of bug fix requests and pull requests. Cheers, Joseph

I recommend not editing the first few entries (such as ". sentence ending"), as they are reserved for use when processing characters (there is a dedicated module in NVDA that will look for these and take appropriate action). Cheers, Joseph

Re: Sharing Miranda NG packs
Ali Savas
You write that you downloaded the package years ago. I'm not sure if
your package is still compatible with the latest Miranda NG version. In the meantime a lot of changes have been made to Miranda NG, including very big changes to the Facebook library. Also Discord support was added some time ago. In my opinion it would be better to inform the developers about this issue and work together on what they could improve instead of making a separate package, which might get further and further away from the original Miranda NG project. Finally, I would like to note that this topic may not fit into the list here. Only topics concerning NVDA should be discussed here.

Ok, I understand. The version that I'm using is accessible, but some things that you describe, for example ability to go to the contact list with alt tab are not present or are in some setting that I don't know how is named. However, personally I prefer the Miranda NG on the systray, but that is not the thing, and other things souns interesting to me. Well... your version is portable or you installed it? if is
portable, I think you can copy that on other folder, open the copy
and remove your accounts, your history, etc etc.

Re: Sharing Miranda NG packs
The accessible pack for blind folks I downloaded years ago and have since upgraded, changes a lot of things that make managing windows easier for screen reader folks and a bunch of other stuff, such as the ability to alt tab to your contact list, the ability to alt tab to various chat windows. Disables certain settings that interfere with chat histories and otherwise, like avatars, and more, but I can't remember all the changes. I also can't seem to find the old link to the old blind accessible version. As I said, I'd be more than willing to share my version if I knew how to expoirt the settings without exposing my various accounts.

Re: Sharing Miranda NG packs

What is the Miranda NG accessible pack, or what it changes? The question is because when I install the program, if I choose full install, I can choose between different contact lists for the contact lists, if I remember correctly modern, clasic and contact list for blind folks. Is that the change? or the Miranda NG that you're speaking has other changes?

Then, do as I did. In the Punctuation and symbols dialog search at the top for the word, "dot". It only comes up about five times, and two of those are for the sentence ending period and the straight single period character. Change both of those instances to "period" for the replacement instead of dot. And unless you want ellipses read as period period period rather than dot dot dot leave those instances alone. Re: NVDA Settings Questions
Dennis,
This is a serious question: When did it say it as dot? In playing with this, until I set both the period, sentence ending to read as period instead of dot, and set the straight period character to read as period instead of dot, if I wrote a sentence with a terminal period and then began backspacing out characters it would read as dot. Once both were set to period then it was reading as period. This suggests to me that when backspacing out characters to delete them NVDA is matching characters as single characters (which makes sense) rather than trying to use sentence context. I don't want punctuation pronounced as a general rule, so I have not turned on anything that makes this occur when actually writing. So when I put the period on any of these sentences it is not announced at all, nor are the letters as I type or the words as I complete them. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. As Sarah has mentioned, it depends on how and when you want a given thing pronounced. NVDA, like most complex software, is highly configurable, but you (or I, when advising) have to know exactly what the circumstance is when "dot" is being pronounced where you'd prefer period instead. I will always presume this is when you're going character by character, and hitting punctuation marks, unless specified otherwise. It also matters where. There is the sentence ending period and there is the period used elsewhere, and those are considered separate instances of the character. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Sharing Miranda NG packs
I'm sharing the page for Miranda NG Packs. This page doesn't have the blind centric pack, but the Sebijk Edition says it's accessible to blind people. I'm still using the blind version of Miranda NG I got years ago, from Andre Louis, or whatever his name is. If I knew how, I'd love to make a pack and share it with you all, but I can't figure out how to export everything except my various accounts. Anyway, try the below.
