Re: new suggestion
Hi.
Is it something like this? When browsing the web, and possibly in Word, the user would want NVDA to focus on the text that would appear after a bullet or number in a list, rather than on the bullet or number itself. For example, on the words "Home" and "Edit" in the list below: 1. Home 2. Edit I'd argue that this is a feature request and not a fix, as NVDA is behaving as it should, for consistency. However, I believe that this request stems from some links being after bulleted and numbered lists. Personally, I don't mind the current behaviour. As stated before, it's consistent, and if I see a link in a bulleted or numbered list that I'd wanna click, I automatically just press the K key followed by Enter to activate it. This also works if the link is in the middle of the line.

Re: new suggestion
Luke Davis
Is the main reason you want this, because of links that appear in lists, and you want to jump right to the start of the link when you enter the list item?

when we are in bulleted lists please add like the curser should move to the main items it means it should move the curser to the list item. you know what i mean, it should not focus bullet is should focus to after the bullet.. it means say we have • ListItem then the focus should not bee on • is should move focus to the ListItem. hope you understude

I haven't had to have "less secure apps" turned on for a couple of years now, since any modern programs that attempt to access Google long ago were updated to employ OAUTH2. If you are using an ancient e-mail client like Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail (of a certain age, anyway) you'll have to enable the less secure apps option, and even then only sometimes. You have the option of using app-specific passwords (but that's only if you have 2-step verification on - and I never do as I consider it gross overkill on my Google account). Even utilities to do things like mass deletion of Google Calendar events or to sync Google Contacts and Calendar to Outlook are OAUTH2 compliant. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Actually the file name is 3.0, but if you look at the properties, it is actually 3.1. On 5/7/2020 2:46 AM, Fresh Start wrote:

Re: NVDA 2020.1 released
Quentin, the main NV Access RSS feed has been imported to the group, as well as the community add ons RSS feed. So, posting through the blog will eventually make it to the list. I believe Groups checks for integration updates every hour? But anyway, this means less work for you. You just post the blog post or any NV Access update and it gets beamed to this list.

It took a few tries for my update to come through. If anybody else is having issues, I'd actually just restart the computer. :) I should do that more often, honestly. But yeah, this is a good update! I'm excited to see what NV Access can do with Python 3.

NVDA 2020.1 ReleasedBy NV Access
NV Access is pleased to announce that version 2020.1 of NVDA, the free screen reader for Microsoft Windows, is now available for download. We encourage all users to upgrade to this version. Highlights of this release include support for several new braille displays from HumanWare and APH, plus many other important bug fixes such as the ability to again read math in Microsoft Word using MathPlayer / MathType. Please note, after updating any software, it is a good idea to restart the computer. Restart by going to the Shutdown dialog, selecting “restart” and pressing ENTER. Updating software can change files which are in use. This can lead to instability and strange behaviour which is resolved by rebooting. This is the first thing to try if you do notice anything odd after updating. While downloading NVDA, please consider becoming a monthly donor. Contributions like yours help NV Access continue our important work. We also have a range of training material in the NV Access Shop to help you increase your skills with NVDA. Start with the popular Basic Training for NVDA in electronic text, audio and braille. Save with the NVDA Productivity Bundle. This includes Basic Training, all our Microsoft Office training, and telephone support. Re: google and insecure apps
Gene
Since GMail considers almost every program to be
less secure and since you aren't likely to be hacked using these widely used
programs, why bother to learn another program that is more secure but where it
doesn't matter?
If you are hacked, you will know immediately.
you will receive a message from GMail to your back up e-mail address telling you
that someone logged into your account with this or that device and I believe
giving an approximate location. If you use a good password, unless your
machine is infectedd with malware or GMail itself is hacked, I consider the risk
of being hacked to be small or negligible.
If I used e-mail for some sort of important
purposes, I would encrypt it if privacy were a concern. for typical
discussions such as list mail and conversations with friends, why
bother?

To those on outlook and other programs as long as your program supports o auth 2 it will be fine. Even though thunderbird with normal passwords works fine with o auth I get a faster experience with sending and recieving. I did have less secure apps on, but just turned it off since now I am able to use o auth in thunderbird I have no desire or need to leave that active. Becides google keeps complaining about it every so often so I don't have it. If you currently use outlook as a home user and either don't use any advanced features or are only using it for mail, I'd personally switch to thunderbird and turn on o auth so that you can get mail without this insecure stuff. You can also buy office 2019 which should have this security standard.

Recent Issue with Excessive Verbosity in Thunderbird When Using NVDA (Announcement Only)
