I do get all three of these issues, but they are of minor concern to me. The one thing you didn't mention is the reading of the underlying address when you tab to or arrow to a clickable link in an open message. This is really annoying to me and happens one hundred percent of the time.

Thunderbird 68.8.0: Unwanted Verbosity Is Improved But Not Fixed
David Goldfield
Hello.
The release notes for TB 68.8.0 indicates that the extra messages heard by screen readers has been addressed. While the situation may have improved I don't believe that this issue has been totally addressed. 1. When pressing enter to open a message NVDA begins to announce something which sounds like "loading message" but the announcement is usually cut off fairly quickly. I suspect that this could be happening more on slower machines. 2. When a message that I am composing is being automatically saved to my drafts folder the status message indicating this is clearly being announced, as in "copying message to drafts folder." Should this be happening? 3. When I press ctrl-enter to send a message I sometimes hear the beginning of a status announcement but it gets cut off very quickly and I'm not able to determine what it's trying to tell me. I guess I should load the speech viewer to better capture some of what is being announced but I don't recall hearing any of this information prior to this problem initially being introduced. -- David Goldfield, Blindness Assistive Technology Specialist JAWS Certified, 2019 WWW.DavidGoldfield.org

Roger Stewart
I just checked through this message here and I'm not getting this. True, if a link is spelled out with the full http etc, it will be read that way. But if it isn't, all I hear is what is shown.

Issue With NVDA and Thunderbird: Focusing on a link within a message also reads the URL
David Goldfield
Hello. Using NVDA 2020.1 and Thunderbird 68.8.0, Windows 10 64.
I have noticed that when moving focus to a link which is contained within a message the link's name or label is announced as one would expect. However, maybe about half a second later the target URL is also spoken. I'm not sure when this started happening or if it's related to the additional verbosity we saw recently with Thunderbird which is now mostly tamed. I did have the speaking of tool tips enabled but disabling this setting does not correct the problem. Are others experiencing this and is there a workaround? I'm seeing this consistently using the letter K to move from one link to the next. -- David Goldfield, Blindness Assistive Technology Specialist JAWS Certified, 2019 WWW.DavidGoldfield.org

Re: Is there an NVDA addon to the Telegram client Unigram?
The answer to the original question is, from all appearances, no.
And, since this topic has swung entirely toward JAWS scripts, and since all links to said scripts are available to all readers, this topic is now locked. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. OE Classic gets more NVDA updates.
I just got the below email. This is in the 3.1 version of OE Classic. It's currently only the pro version. I have no idea when the free version of 3.1 will be released. The news archive will give a better indication of what's to come in the pro version. The accessibility email. We've made a new update of OE Classic which further improves accessibility in the latest update of OE Classic 3.1, 2020-05-08. If you still don't run it, update is already available, please update using the built in update system. This upgrade brings you info when browsing the message list if a message has been unread, flagged (including colored flags like yellow flag, green flag, blue flag etc.), replied, forwarded or draft. Simply by browsing through messages this will be read by a screen reader. We tested with NVDA and it appears to work well. This adds another accessibility improvement to the ones which we've done so far, especially the recent ones in version 3.1 based on your previous sugestions. The work on this is ongoing and there will likely be further improvements to accessibility as well.

your description, Brian, it sounds like not--but sometimes I have been able to determine what buttons represent by using Win10 OCR. It's always worth a try.

Re: did this site change over night?
Yes, it did, and the idiots that redid the site used an unlabeled button, with the icon of an abstract person's head and shoulders, as the account button. What's even weirder is that once I click on it, and expand it, I can't seem to enter in to the expanded fields, which include where you enter your e-mail address and password. Just FYI, if I start using the b shortcut, it's the second button. The first reads "clickable button" and is the search button. The second, which reads simply "button" is the account button. NVDA goes silent with Outlook 365
Janet Brandly
Hello all,
I am using the latest version of NVDA with Windows 10. This is something IO have noticed with at least the last 2 versions of NVDA. When Outlook 365 is downloading messages, NVDA goes silent, even if I’m working in another window. Does anyone know how to fix this? Maybe I need to set Outlook to only download email messages when I tell it to?
Thanks,
Janet

did this site change over night?
Hello to all. I was trying to log onto http://simmarket.com and I cannot for the life of me find the button labeled as "account" that was there last week. I bought some stuff from there, and now cannot get it. This is crazy! Can someone please give me a hand, and no clapping please. lol! I'm using brave and edge, and both show the same thing. Using nvda 2020 what ever was released to the public a few days ago.
Take care to all, and have a happy Saturday.
