Does using another reader or using OCR solve the
problem? I think I had a file like that once, but I don't recall now if
those methods solved the problem.

word with no spaces between Dan,
By coincidence, I was dealing with this topic today, actually! All you need to do is: I had a long chat session with the Adobe help team some time ago. It seems that the problem arises when a document created in some other editor is saved as PDF this problem can arise resulting in spaces not appearing to be standard ones under ISO (or ASCII 32). With the help of the Adobe support team, I used “adobe Acrobat Pro DC” to reprocess the offending document by printing it “as Adobe” and saving the output document to the hard disk rather than actually printing it. The spaces were all present and no misspellings occurred. The help team assured me that this problem arises from outside editors and not from within Adobe. Therefore, Adobe can do nothing about it. Perhaps we could ask Microsoft and other manufacturers of editing programs to examine their processes for creating PDF files and see how this might arise.

Re: Golden Cursor and Gold wave add-on for NVDA 19.2.1

Hi
I have it on drop box for the earlier version that will work on that version. The link is https://www.dropbox.com/s/xy3k2rbufpzc5h3/goldenCursor-3.4.nvda-addon?dl=1
The gold wave one is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/ec7d60ut9p6zwln/goldwave-19.04.nvda-addon?dl=1 Hopefully I did not accidentally put in the wrong ones.
I have 2 folders or drop box links on my website now one is for earlier add ons before 2019.2 and another for ones after nvda 2019.3 and onwards.
I need to change it so it automatically downloads when you click on a file but have not tried it with a folder
At present it brings up a list of add ons then after you click on one it might want you to play which it can not or download it.
I will see if I can change later on tonight.

Thanks for the idea. I just tried to do this using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and I can't seem to get it right. All I get is a blank file.
Can you tell me what settings you used?
Thanks.

SpeechHub NVDA add-on for version 2019.3.1 and later
Isaac Porat
Hello
SpeechHub NVDA add-on for versions 2019.3.1 and later is available. This add-on does nothing unless SpeechHub itself is installed. With this add-on installed SpeechHub voices are available to NVDA in the usual way. Please note that SpeechHub itself was not updated for a while; the hub itself is highly reliable and the open source synthesizers work within their strengths and limitations as explained below. I use it myself all the time and people including some on this list asked me to notify them when an add-on compatible with recent NVDA versions is available. SpeechHub is an internal server that runs automatically on your computer. The hub provides text and audio processing augmenting as necessary or providing an alternative to the processing provided by the synthesizers themselves. By default SpeechHub comes with three open source synthesizers and two SAPI 5 connectors. Among the three open source synthesizers it supports by default the most interesting one is MaryTTS. This synthesizer probably provides the best human like voices available as open source and to my knowledge SpeechHub is the only system that can facilitate the use of these voices with a screen reader. Single characters processing such as key echo etc is less good but some people enjoy these voices for continuous reading. These voices are available only in English. The SAPI 5 connector uses unconventional interface processing audio allow better response for utterances produced frequently and higher speeds with some slow voices. This connector works well with some synthesizers but less well with others. A guide to why you might want to use SpeechHub is available, note that it is a bit out of date in that most computers these days should be able to work with these voices easily. http://www.speakon.org.uk/SpeechHub/public/docs/NVDAClient/NVDAWhyUse.html A guide for installing SpeechHub and its NVDA add-on is available at http://www.speakon.org.uk/SpeechHub/public/docs/NVDAClient/NVDADownloadInstallation.html The SpeechHub home page is at http://www.speakon.org.uk/SpeechHub.html Regards Isaac

Re: And finally, Add-on Updater 20.06
#addonrelease
Hi, Using the current infrastructure, the best way is letting NVDA query a table of add-on identifiers and versions, which must be updated whenever new add-ons are registered and updates are released (still a manual intervention). Note that this fails for add-ons that receive updates from websites other than GitHub and ones that come with their own update mechanism. All this will change once add-ons store idea becomes reality, which will also make Add-on Updater and update mechanisms in other add-ons obsolete. Cheers, Joseph

And finally, Add-on Updater 20.06
#addonrelease
Hi all,
Add-on Updater 20.06 is now available. As an add-on that has gone through one of the most changes as a result of Flake8, along with not breaking update facility for other add-ons, this add-on became the last one to get 20.06. As always, Add-on Updater 20.06 is available through community add-ons website, or ironically enough, through Add-on Updater itself.
And with that, I’m taking a break from NVDA add-ons world for a while. The next releases will be done in July. Cheers, Joseph

From now on, open the context menu and type d, if my memory is correct about the short cut. You can use the search book marks feature but you have to get to it in a different way now. Control I doesn't open book mark search in most parts of the program interface now. Instead, use this cumbersome method. I think that often, searching for a bookmark is convenient enough that fooling around with the cumbersome interface is worth it. Open the library part of Firefox that deals with book marks with control shift b. Shift tab twice. Type what you are looking for. Tab once. You will see search results. Press enter on the one you want, you are working just as if you were in control I results now. Then, once the desired page loads, alt tab to library and close it with alt f4. If you want to see the tree view you saw with control I when you tabbed once without typing anything, do the following: Open the library, control shift b, and shift tab once. You are now in the tree view. I would like to clean up my bookmarks. There was a method I had used in the past involving control+i which now seems to not work as it had previously. Googling led me to hear of a way to remove a bookmark where you click an icon on the address bar-- something I had no luck in finding how to access that icon from the address bar. How can I remove bookmarks, either one at a time or in multiples, using only the keyboard with NVDA? Thanks! --Laurie M.

Thank you very much Chris! That took me to the library of bookmarks where I could navigate to the ones I wanted to remove and then used shift-F10 to get the context menu to delete. This was very helpful. Thanks! -Laurie
