Re: Address for NVDA support
Jane,
NVDA can and does read row and/or column titles. Re: Address for NVDA support
Jane Carona <jane.e.carona@...>
I don’t use row titles, just column titles in row 1. I usually have column A blank, just because that’s how I did it in WindowEyes. So my data starts in B2, and goes from b2 to p17288. Not sure what else I can do at this point. I’d sure hate to have to go back to jaws, but if I can’t read the column titles of my big spreadsheets, I may have to.

Hi Jane, You may also install an addon for Outlook which gives you lots of the Window-Eyes capabilities back for Outlook. Please see here: https://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/outlookExtended.en.html

Hi, Jane,
I haven't worked with exel using NVDA but asfar as opening attachments in outlook, you shift tab to the attachment and hit control right arrow. You'll hear the word "message". Hit the context key and arrow down to penattachment. Hit enter to open it.
Hope this helps.

NVAccess does not do e-mail support. See this page for online support options: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda-community/wiki/Connect
and this one for paid telephone support: https://www.nvaccess.org/product/nvda-telephone-support/ Is this spreadsheet set up with title columns (for the respective rows) and title rows (for the respective columns) either in Excel itself, which is my preferred method, or in NVDA? This has been discussed many times on this group. Searching the NVDA Group Archive When I use the Groups.io search on [Excel title row column] virtually every message that comes back (many of which are mine, and many others which are not) come up immediately. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. I just tried to send my huge spreadsheet to support@... in hopes that someone can see why my NVDA isn’t reading the titles, and that address isn’t valid. Does anyone know how I can contact someone at NVAccess who might be able to fix this problem?

Re: NVDA becoming unresponsive in Microsoft Teams
Eilana Benish
Shalom all this is a known issue for quite some time now and as I understood the problem is with the platform for making apps like Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp For Windows . in the meantime , I suggest you work with Microsoft Teams from the browser. I guess that the best experience would be with the new Microsoft Edge based chromium. I tested Microsoft team with the Mozilla Firefox browser and NVDA And I did not experience any problems with NVDA stops Speaking .in fact I think that in the browser Microsoft teams works better due to the high level of Accessibility using ARIA correctly.

In the meantime, I've written an addon which will do the best it can given how NVDA works to let you do this. The limitations are that it'll disable live regions, but it'll also disable the API while turned on. So things like TW Blue, etc won't work. Here's how to use it. Install the addon, then bind a gesture to it in the editor. I use NVDA+print screen. While turned on, that page reads fine. Stop NVDA from automatically reading media on webpages
Justin Harford
Hello I'm not sure the subject line accurately describes my issue, but it seems like there are webpages today that have content that automatically refreshes and changes. \unitone \left( \r2\mathbb{\usepckage{times 9 it appears to be used for advertising or promoting a website's publications. NVDA }}i\aght) automatically reads this content, and it often interrupts my reading of the articles themselves. Here is an example of a webpage: https://www.lovefood.com/recipes/60477/denis-cotters-black-bean-soup-with-chocolate-and-chillies As I tried to read the recipe, the screenreader is also reading some sort of a flash object that is promoting other articles. Is there a way to stop this? It seems like either I should be able to stop the screenreader from announcing this, or I should be able to stop Google Chrome from displaying it. I have used ad blockers in the past, but it seems like many webpages now will not allow you to access their resources if you are using an ad blocker, so I wonder if there is some other tool that I could use. Hello Jane and all,
I was also very happy with Window-Eyes. Fortunately, I skipped JAWS completely and came directly to NVDA. I have been happy with it so far. The email support is outstanding.
Regarding attachments in Outlook, recently I was having an issue where NVDA would announce that a message had an attachment but, when shift-tabbing from the message body, no attachment would appear. Apparently these messages did not in fact have attachments but the reason NVDA saying they did had something to do with how the message was written. When messages do have actual attachments, they will appear when you shift-tab from within the body of the message. You will hear the list of attachments and told to use alt plus down arrow to hear the list of options.
I have no meaningful experience with Excel so cannot help you there.
Hope this helps,
Janet

Hello Jane. Welcome to this list. Like you, I was a loyal Window-Eyes user myself and I am using NVDA and it is a fantastic product for sure. Anyways, to answer your question about Outlook, if you shift tab to the attachments list, use your right arrow to select the attachments. I don’t have any experience with Excel with NVDA but NVDA has basic training modules you can purchase and I believe there is a training module in it for Excel.

New to NVDA, questions about Outlook and Excel with NVDA
Jane Carona <jane.e.carona@...>
Hi everyone, I’m new to this list, and so grateful to have found it! I was a very happy WindowEyes user and came to Jaws very unwillingly, and have never liked it. Just started using NVDA today, and it seems a lot like WindowEyes, so I think I’ll be very happy!
But I have two questions: How do I access attachments in Outlook. Typically, when on a message with an attachment, I’d shift tab to the attachment and hit enter on it, but that doesn’t seem to work with NVDA.
My other pressing issue is reading titles with Excel. I live in Excel, so this could be a deal-breaker. With smaller spreadsheets, I’ve gotten the titles to read pretty well, but I have some spreadsheets that have 17,000 or more rows, and NVDA reads the first row of data sometimes as column titles. Is there a limit on the size spreadsheet NVDA can comfortably handle?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Very good your add-ons, it's a great job. I have a couple of suggestions and some issues. The first thing is if you could move the settings of your add-ons to NVDA's built-in preferences, this would allow you to configure profiles. It happened to me that the enhanced word navigation feature doesn't work well in UIA controls, for example in the Address Bar of Microsoft Edge, in Onenote, Quick Notes, etc. What happens is that when you press ctrl and arrows, select that text and NVDA says selected. However, I like the way it works with VS Code, so I have to be activating and deactivating that function. With indent nav in apps like the ones I mentioned, quick notes or onenote, so does the same, NVDA says selected. Both add-ons work, but it's tedious that NVDA verbalize that in these cases. Thank you very much! Best regards 2020-05-30 21:29 GMT-04:00, Larry Wang <larry.wang.801@gmail.com>:
