A member of the Windows 10 for Screen Reader Users group made an excellent suggestion that I have decided to implement for the NVDA Group as well.  He requested that direct links to the group topic archive, and the search page for same, be included in the footer of group e-mail messages.

The following now appears in every message after the Groups.io standard links line for Viewing a message online, Replying to Group or Sender, Muting a topic, or Creating a new topic:

Re: NVDA and MathML, specifically for Chemistry Markup Language [Subscripts in Particular]

Greg Williams

Hi Andy,

Do you have MathPlayer installed? NVDA uses MathPlayer to read MathML, and it generally reads chemical equations in an unambiguous understandable form although not necessarily the same way that a chemist might read it out loud. If you have MathPlayer installed, and it is not reading the subscripts, can you send an example of a webpage where it is not being read, and I can take a look.

I'd like to find an answer about if NVDA can be configured to read MathML, WHERE the MathML is being used to represent chemistry. The main issue is that NVDA does not currently seem to read the subscripts in chemical equations.

NVDA Freezing/Crashing with Office 365 - Word and Outlook

dmeenagh@...

Hello everyone.

I am having some issues with Office 365 and NVDA.

I find that word randomly crashes, freezes NVDA and NVDA won’t talk until word is killed,

I am also finding that while running NVDA, if I switch to a different email account in outlook, it crashes.

Running windows 10 on a high spec computer.

I know someone else talked about this previously and I tried doing the online repair of office. It seems to make the word thing happen less, but the outlook thing is still happening.

I tried a fresh install of NVDA and disabling all ad-ons.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

If you want the welcome screen back, Open NVDA help/Welcome dialog. There is a check box there to show it every time.

Funny, I was just going to report a strange experience I've just had with my
Touchme5.

The external add-on (or driver, or whatever it was) never worked for
meThe display was seen by NVDA in Automatic, but not if I selected it
from the Seika option. I got the "Unable to load display" error.

On automatic, though, I could read the first 40 characters, move down or
up by line, but not pan horizontally.

Last week I bought ZDSR, a Chinese screen reader for Windows, which only
supports Seika display brailles.

I installed it, and my Touchme5 sorked like a clock immediately.

the strangest thing, however, was that, when I treid using with NVDA, it
loaded regularly choosing the Seika option, and now it works perfectly
well with NVDAtoo.

I can scroll, pan, use touch cursors...

Don't know what did the trick; I can only think that ZDSR installed some
driver or other that now lets me use this display all along.

I hope the devs will find a way to make Seika displays work with NVDA
again, because the braillle is very good, and it's a pity they can't be
used at their best.

sorry for the partially OT, but I wanted to report this, just in case

I see no setting that will do this. Someone may know of one. But this is
important.

While you can often reverse such do not show this again check boxes with a
setting, you can't always and you should never tell a program not to show
you something again unless you are absolutely sure you don't want it shown
or unless you are absolutely sure you know how to reverse it. Just close
whatever is being shown instead. You may save trouble and inconvenience by
not activating such check boxes without real thought.

Hello Quentin,

Thanks for your reply.

I want to develop Google assistant actions and in order to create Google actions, we have to use this website.

And as I want to develop using node.js I have to get my project ID on this website.

Now I succeeded in finding my project ID by clicking the button to change its language.

When doing this I have another tab to change the name, get the ID and delete the project.

I'm going to contact Google accessibility support team.
