Re: nvda add-on for internet download manager
Not that I know of. But if you happen to be a VLC user it's worth taking a look at this page, 11 VLC Tricks & Hidden Features You Must Know, where a discussion of how to use VLC to download YouTube Video is one of those "tricks."

An important announcement about Enhanced Touch Gestures add-on: major features to be removed in a future add-on release
Hello all,
At least I’m almost done with the summer vacation (yay)… Thanks for all your encouragements.
The following announcement is for users of Enhanced Touch Gestures add-on:
A future version of NVDA will include two major features from Enhanced Touch Gestures add-on, namely the ability to toggle touch support from everywhere and a command to do just that. These two features were added in Enhanced Touch Gestures add-on back in 2017. Three years later, these features are being reviewed for inclusion in a future version of NVDA.
However, there is one more feature that’s part of the add-on that must be discontinued due to the above changes: touch passthrough. You can ask NVDA to suspend touch gestures for up to ten seconds. However, now that there is a possibility that touch gestures support might be turned on and off with a keyboard command, there is no need for automatic touch passthrough. As a result, this feature will be removed from the add-on.
To help with this transition, the following will happen in Enhanced Touch Gestures 20.07 and later:
Because these changes require quite a long time to test, Enhanced Touch Gestures 20.07 will be delayed by up to a week (originally planned for early July). In the meantime, I’ll release version 20.06.2 to address compatibility issues discovered during testing (and for some of you, 20.06.2 is the last version where Enhanced Touch Gestures settings panel will be shown). Thanks. Cheers, Joseph

Re: speaking commands
Rui Fontes
Hello!
Have you seen the implementation made by paulber in his add-on NVDAExtensionGlobalPlugin?
I have already gave suggestions in this issue. Reading the issue, most people agree that arrow keys should be treated differently from other command keys...
And one of my suggestions have benn backed up by two or three
other participants in the issue...

Rui, There has been discussion on this: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/6553 Much of the issue is that everyone has different ideas on the best way forward for this. If anyone has new ideas, then do, please comment on that issue. Quentin.

Quentin Christensen
Hi everyone, NVDA 2020.2 Beta 2 is now available. Changes from Beta1 include: - Updated translations for many languages - Small corrections to the changes file. - No longer speak “object replacement character” - Adds Ukrainian computer Braille table We're encouraging as many people to test the beta as possible. Please see the full changes and download the new beta at: https://www.nvaccess.org/post/nvda-2020-2beta2/ If you are using Beta1, it should prompt to update automatically within the next day or so. The betas will then prompt to update to any subsequent betas, the release candidate build(s) and the final stable 2020.2 when it is released. Re: Navigating a Word Document with Editable Fields?
Hello Bryan, Thank you, I know who built it, so I'll send them some materials on making accessible Word forms. I sent them some information on accessible PDF forms earlier, but it is slightly different in Word. I've never used an accessible form in Word, other than some check boxes,, so didn't know what to expect. Thank you,

Re: Navigating a Word Document with Editable Fields?
Brandon,
Where there's a will, and a bit of devious research, there's a way. This link is to a downloadable version of the form you provided earlier, but in RTF format, on my Google Drive with all protections removed: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1_MxI6QBGRvzVw3uq-_MLIBjn_QNB1uJV As a result, it behaves very much like any regular word document, and you can feel free to promptly do a Save As and save it in docx format again. I left all of the form fields in the document. Everywhere that you need to fill in will have the phrase "Click or tap here to enter text" which you can select and actually fill in what was noted in the document just before that. The exception is the date, where the phrase, "Click or tap here to enter date" is used. The table format remains, but at least you should be able to hear what you need to hear in order to fill this thing out independently. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Re: Navigating a Word Document with Editable Fields?
Brandon,
This appears to be a very decently designed MS-Word fillable form, at least strictly from a visual standpoint, accessibility is another thing. The form itself is password protected, so I cannot dissect the form in detail. There do not appear to be any tables visually, and why this designer chose to use them I have no idea, as I'm hearing what you are when traversing the form. The form just a series of text form fields, with the exception of the Date Awarded, which is a dropdown that allows selection from a calendar, though you can type in mm/dd/yyyy if you so choose. I can tab and shift+Tab to move to the next/previous form fields. Home/End take me to the first/last position in a form field. But only some of the fields have any alt-text to tell you what they are. The text in between the fields is not accessible, nor should it be accessible, while the form is in "fillable" mode and if the designer knew what they were doing they should have placed alt text on each fillable item that tells you what the labels that are part of the form show. They also should not have used tables in a form of this type. There are times they're helpful, but not here. I don't know what options you have as far as seeking assistance with, and giving feedback about, this form. But whoever designed this doesn't know even basic accessibility principles for a fillable form. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Also don't forget about Firefox Send (https://send.firefox.com), which lets you send a file that expires after a certain number of days or downloads. (I believe 1 day and 1 download, if you don't have an account.)

Attachments can't be sent to the list; it didn't come through.
You'll need to put it in Dropbox or something, or send it to someone off-list who can do that. (I can) Luke

Navigating a Word Document with Editable Fields?
Hello, I am unable to navigate this attached word document with NVDA. Does anyone know NVDA settings or word settings I can do to make this document readable? Here are the problems: 1. I am unable to press left or right arrow keys, or ctrl+left or ctrl+right arrow keys to move through each row. 2. I am unable to erase content after typing it without arrowing down, out of the box, then arrowing back into the box 3. The text in between the tables is not read by NVDA 4. Using table navigation commands doesn't seem to work properly, from column 2, I am unable to move to column 1. 5. When arrowing through the table, I sometimes get stuck in an endless loop, around the check boxes 6. Arrowing up and down doesn't seem to always show the same content I just past. Thank you,

Just for the record, for anyone who wants it for some obscure reason, 2017.3 can be downloaded directly from NV Access, at https://nvaccess.org/download.

But seriously people, please don't. Unless you're running Vista or XP, you don't want or need this. There is no, zero, as in not any, positive value to running 2017.3 under Windows 10. Luke
