Hi, I just gave 4K Video Downloader a try, and...some parts are not that accessible. For instance, NVDA does not announce the video download progress, nor what video that is being downloaded in a playlist. I'm using the latest version of 4K Video Downloader.

That is correct. The process of creating desktop shortcuts has two steps; however, after that, it acts like earlier versions of windows. Just remember windows + m takes you to the desktop.

I find it easier to place application shortcuts on the desktop. This is a two-step process. Hit the windows key, type in the application name, hit the context menu, find file location and enter on it, hit the context menu and go to the send-to menu. Hit the desktop option. Hit windows m to bring you to the desktop, type the first letter of the application, and you will land on it. Note that on the desktop, once you find a and select application, you can hit f2 and change the shortcut’s name.

I removed all the junk in hopes that fewer items would make things clearer, but it didn't I pinned a couple things to the start and in order to get to them I need to hit right arrow once and down arrow all the way to the bottom when they should be just down. Apparently there are folders but I can't understand how they work. Any help would be great because I would like to start using the start menu. Thanks,

I have Windows 7 and the latest NVDA. I am deafblind, so I use a braille
display. NVDA was doing fine until a few days ago. then the Braille display was disconnected accidentally. I tried turning off Windows with the power button, waiting a few minutes and then turning it back on. The Braille display showed a starting signal, but nothing else. My sighed assistant reports that he can use Windows normally. NVDA will talk, but it will not use my Braille display. He tried NVDA troubleshooting, but the choices didn't make sense. it even asked what version of Windows we were using. Microsoft hasn't sneaked in an upgrade to Windows 10. That would have been immediately aparent. I would like to avoid reinstalling NVDA. Any ideas you come up with will be welcome. i will have to explain whatever I decide to do to my sighted assistant. Brian, I'm sorry I don't have the time at the moment to even attempt to step through the process of creating a new Google Account (and now, as Google says, it's "one account, all of Google",) but here's the direct link to the Google Account Creation Page. You fill in quite a bit of basic information, including the userid part of the Google/Gmail address you'd like, right on that page. It also appears that they may be allowing users to use an existing e-mail address, in full, as their Google account login identifier (much like Microsoft does for Microsoft Accounts) but that could lead to insane confusion pretty quickly. Since Google has been heavy into replacing Captchas with ReCaptchas I'd hope that's what they're using if anything of that sort is being used further into the process of account creation. -- I worry a lot. . . But you can define your own shortcuts when you
create a short cut key. Control alt f could be used for Firefox.
Control alt w could be used for Windows Live
Mail if that is your e-mail program.
My point is that you can use the first letter of
the name of the program and that might make remembering the command easy.
Also, you don't have to create a lot of commands for programs if you don't want
to. If you have three or four programs you open a lot more than others,
you would only have those commands to remember.

Hello, So I was able to get the bash client working on my computer.Because this is pretty much a commandline, is NVDA able to modify any of these behaviors? It would be beyond amazing if there was a text editor that had the usability of EdSharp on the bash line. Vim could be that, but I have not seen anything to show me it is faster than editing with EdSharp. Apparently it is not normal for most people to never leave their keyboard when they are typing and that is what Vim allows. But EdSharp has even faster key commands and it is a lot more user friendly. Hey guys, Any suggestion for Youtube video downloading program that is accessible with NVDA and still in active development? I'm currently using Pontes Media Downloader which is perfectly accessible, but the last version was in late 2014, and I've started having issues downloading playlists with tens of videos lately. Because of this, I'm thinking of finding a replacement, but I'm not aware of any programs out there that is accessible with NVDA and still in active development.

Hello, The reason why one uses the start menu is so you don't need to open apps to do things like your calendar, whether, news and stocks. you just arrow over those items and you hear what they are.
