Outlook 2016 - Cannot Open Certain Messages When NVDA is Active
GAood Morning list I have a problem opening certain emails in Outlook 2016.
If NVDA is turned off, the specific mails can be opened.
I copied the View Log after I experienced the problem.
Would it help if I uninstall, and then re-install NVDA?
Please help!! Regards
Christo Vorster (Worcester, south Africa)

NVDA 2020.2 ReleasedBy NV Access
NV Access is pleased to announce that version 2020.2 of NVDA, the free screen reader for Microsoft Windows, is now available for download. We encourage all users to upgrade to this version. Highlights of this release include support for a new braille display from Nattiq, better support for ESET antivirus GUI and Windows Terminal, performance improvements in 1Password, and with Windows OneCore synthesizer. Plus many other important bug fixes and improvements. Please note, after updating any software, it is a good idea to restart the computer. Restart by going to the Shutdown dialog, selecting “restart” and pressing ENTER. Updating software can change files which are in use. This can lead to instability and strange behaviour which is resolved by rebooting. This is the first thing to try if you do notice anything odd after updating. While downloading NVDA, please consider becoming a monthly donor. Contributions like yours help NV Access continue our important work. We also have a range of training material in the NV Access Shop to help you increase your skills with NVDA. Start with the popular Basic Training for NVDA in electronic text, audio and braille. Save with the NVDA Productivity Bundle. This includes Basic Training, all our Microsoft Office training, and telephone support. Any hint to read YouTube (and perhaps other) subtitles?
Alexandre Alves Toco
Just a note! In youtube with schrome, nvda read the subtitles by it’s own. But in netflix with schrome, the lion is very usefull!!! It still loses some contente. I saw some settings and I will play with then.

Hello. The solution is the add-on Lion. First, go to the video. Maximise the Window and press f11 for the complete screen. So, press NVDA+alt+L with the addon Lion installed and go to read the subtitles, but the add-on no repeat sentences. Regards. Carlos Esteban Martínez Macías. Maybe. I really don't know. I noticed this on a system running 32 gigs or ram and my shadow that runs 12.. A restart fixed it, but it is still annoying as this might happen at system boot up, or mid what ever I'm doing on either machine. -- Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . For more info go to our website. Basic web coding conventions have been in place for a very, very long time now. Screen readers generally have little to no problem working with web-based interfaces that are not using novel controls (and novel controls are constantly being invented, but most sites have a smattering of these, if any). Links, buttons, dropdowns, edit boxes, combo boxes, and the list goes on are not new and should be able to be accessed "straight out of the box" on any web interface. If they can't be, then someone has done something royally screwy to make that so. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Re: NVDA links and buttons on websites
Hettie
Hi all Sorry I only react now but that is because of a family crisis. Thanks for all the very helpful suggestions, I didn't know them myself before you told me they exist. Unfortunately it seems as though this website doesn't accept any of them. I can't share the url as it is the company's cloud program. They were told by the programmers that they need to rewrite the complete website to make the necessary accessibility changes. I'm not a programmer but is it not possible to add some code to the existing software to accomplish the use of keyboard input? You're a great source of information, thanks again.

Hello!

I have observed these freezes in a few instances, and in all of them the computer was low on available cpu resources. Could the problem be related to the watchdog? What if the watchdog kicked in and prevented NVDA from being notified of a release code, whereupon NVDA would behave as if the key in question were held down indefinitely? Best, Felix Am Mo., 27. Even without addons that happens here.

I deal with it as a minor thing, goes away with restarting NVDA. BTW its not just a new NVDA version issue, Its was occurring for years here now specially since win10 came up NVDA key would stop functioning every now and then. I thought it was happening because I change usage between FS JAWS and NVDA so often in one session. I might been wrong though.

Digest Speaks In Foreign Language With NVDA
Glenn / Lenny
Hi,
If I open the NVDA digest with NVDA, it all sounds foreign, like maybe German.
NVDA only does this in the digest for this list.
Jaws does not do this.
What would have caused this for my NVDA?
Like I mentioned, I only notice it in this digest message, and all the NVDA digest messages, and not with Jaws.
