Move to the end of what you want to select and issue the command NVDA f10 quickly. You should hear something indicating that text was selected. NVDA in windows terminal on older Win 10 versions
Christian Schoepplein
Hi,
I have to use Windows 10 version 1809 on my laptop for my job. With this version I have problems to use the windows terminal. I can't e.g. not read file listings. On my private laptop with Windows 10 version 2004 installed I do not have those problems. On both systems the current stable version of NVDA is installed, NVDA 2020.2. Is it possible to improve the support of windows text console on my old system on my working laptop somehow? I don't know when a newer version of Windows 10 will be rolled out, so a workaround for Windows 1809 would be great. Cheers and thanks for any hint, Schoepp

Re: ALLOW APP THROUGH CONTROLLED FOLDER ACCESS DOESN'T READ
heaven.lists92@...
Dear Quentin
There are some blocked apps in the list, but it doesn't read them.
It used to read the blocked apps before I updated Windows and NVDA. Although I think it is more likely a Windows problem.
Kind regards

Do you have any blocked apps? I must admit I haven't really used this feature, but turning it on, it says most apps will be allowed by default, so maybe it is simply that there aren't any blocked apps?

Hello, Tony.

1) Press NVDA+ctrl+g to access the general settings dialog. 2) At this point, you're in a dropdown list. Hit home, then type e for english. 3) Shift tab twice to 'apply' & activate the button. 4) You'll be asked to restart. If you hit enter, NVDA will restart & your changes should take effect permanently.

Try control insert g, home, enter for the NVDA language. For the synth,

that depends which one you're using, but control insert v, alt v should get you to Voice.

While setting up NVDA on my desktop, a strange thing happened. At the log in screen everything is in english. However, when the program loads, it comes up speaking in Vietnamese. How do you change the settting back to english. Tony
