Right. The singing is what I want it for. If I could figure out how to make Eloquence sing then I would. But in my previous attempts to do so, I haven't been able to.

Re: In-Process for 7th September is out
Well I personally wouldn't bother. The dectalk from enablerehab has a lot of volume issues. If you want to use dectalk, buy code factory eloquence and well it will work. That or buy a dectalk express for 600 us bucks for the usb version. To be honest, the only reason, dectalk was actually ellivated about, old, expired and generally crappy was the archive of music and crazyness online. Well no one writes for it anymore. Its to old to bother with but well I guess if you want to you can. Any version of eloquence will do. If you are able to find a copy of window eyes there are folders to install dectalk for sapi4. This will give you dectalk. I don't think its worth it though.

Re: Long-standing NVDA bug with visual studio still unresolved
Hi, If the problem is seen with VS 2015 while using NVDA 2020.2, then it is something for us (NVDA developers) should investigate further. Since it is not seen with JAWS, try using it with Narrator and see if that makes a difference. If Narrator does not exhibit this issue, then it might be something to do with the way NVDA handles IntelliSense control (specifically, the API class associated with it). Cheers, Joseph

Hello, A link to the GitHub issue for this problem can be found at the end of this message. It has been reported that there is a bug in NVDA such that when the user tries to arrow up or down through IntelliSense suggestions while working in the code editor of visual studio 2017 that it doesn’t just read the menu option but rather the whole line of code every time, making the feature almost unusable. I can confirm that this same issue still exists in visual studio 2019. It’s frustrating and disappointing that this bug has not been fixed. This problem did not exist in visual studio 2015 so we know NVDA is capable of properly announcing IntelliSense menu options, and the jaws screen reader does not exhibit this behavior so we know it’s not a problem with Microsoft. I’m really hoping somebody at NVDA will finally address and resolve this long-standing bug. Several tech savvy users have tried but haven’t been successful in correcting it.

I think by "original voices", you mean Espeak. That being the case, I couldn't disagree more. Its quality may not be what you want, but Espeak, in my workflow, sounds much better and more clear at high rates of speed than OneCore does. Plus, One Core is just not my cup of tea. Too many pauses, and it does weird things to some words. How does it hurt anything to continue including Espeak? It isn't the default, and if you don't like it, you don't have to use it. Which is the point: different people like different things, and "most human like" of the voice is not a quality that everyone values or weights equally. Clarity and comprehensibility at significant rates of speech is much more interesting to me. Plus, I'm pretty sure eSpeak supports many more languages than most of the higher quality voices, although I could be wrong about that by now. Luke
